MY BF2 COMPLETE COLLECTION cdkey is not valid :(

Gday everybody
I bought my bf2 complete collection on sunday. I found I can play online coz it say my cdkey is not valid.I have tried the EA register but it still not working...:eek: I check my cdkey file, it shows x939201000YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY01000YYYYYYYYY. ...etc. :confused: I really dont know how to fix it and seems a lot of people have this ckey invauld problem.
Can somebody help me ?

when i´m starting the game via steam windows 7 asks me if steam is allowed to change the gamefiles. if i chose yes i can play online, if i decline it says my cd key is not valid.

If you bought from retail, you should not be going to Steam support for help because it's not their issue.

In anycase, did you get this game from eBay or preowned or something? As far as I know, BF2 has been discontinued as a retail product. They do not sell them on the shelves at any of my city's gaming stores anymore, apart from any remaining stock the store has.

My brother is getting this problem on his account

we both own bf2, he is using vista and im using 7 (though i used to play this on my vista too)

bf2 works fine for me, but when he wants to connect to online games, it says cd key is not valid, we are using the same internet connection, and we both officially bought it, i know its valid because i bought it for him and gifted from my account

the above solution does nothing for me, and yes, bf2 DOES use cd-keys, thats why there is an option to view it, and it validates the cd-key upon each time you launch the game.

but it doesnt seem to even try to validate my brothers one, it just goes (step 1 of 2) then launches, but on mine it goes (1 of 2) then (2 of 2), which is the cd key validation bit

any ideas?

I just checked the Best Buy near me and they have BF2 for $9.99 on the shelf. Only 5 copies left.

Are you still having problems with the game?

I had the same problem than you, and google gave me the answer after searching a bit.

Kind of problems you can have:
1.- Invalid Cd-Key
Check the answer in this page:

I think that downloading the software it will solve. You won't see anything working when you use it, but it will change your Cd-Key. Everytime you have problems with the cd-key, use the software.

PS: I think that de download links is not working. Strange, because I have downloaded from there hours ago.

2.- Disallowed Program/Driver [125083]
You are playing and seconds after, your are kicked due to that.
That is because the Punkbuster (something that punish the ones who use illegal softwares, like VAC in Counter Strike) has detected something strange in your pc.

In order to solve that, you can:

-This kick is usually caused by one of the following progams running. Disabling them should stop the kick.

Ventrilo Chat Overlay
Team Speak Overlay
DxTweaker
ATI Tray Tools (depends on version)
Game Accelerator (uninstall, then reboot)
Mumble Overlay
EVGA Precision tool

-n case you run Steam, please do the following:

* Open Steam
* Go to File-Settings
* Go to the tab in-game
* Uncheck the "Enable Steam Community In-Game" checkbox
* Press OK
* Restart Steam
