This game is still broke. It must still be in Alpha stage of development or an early Beta. I'm very surprised that Steam did not check this game over a bit more before allowing Ubisoft to post it. My computer is not the fastest in the world but it plays all the other games I've thrown at it quite well (Half-Life 2, Railworks, TRS-2009, Left 4 Dead, tons of others). The problem with this game is obviously in the rendering engine or the chess engine itself taking 100% high priority processing and leaving nothing for the operating system or any other process to do anything. Not even run the game's own sound requests get processed. It's so bad, that you can't even move the mouse but only 1 tenth of second every 2 seconds.
If this issue is not fixed in a week or so, I'll be getting my money back.
I guess this is getting to be the way these companies are wanting to sell us this stuff. Just throw something together and hope for the best. They're getting too cheap to put some testers on the project to verify it actually works.
Steam needs to take serious action against the culprits of such lousy workmanship. Because, it tarnishes their reputation and workmanship to allow such a buggy program to be sold on their system. Now I wonder if the NEXT game I buy from Steam will have issues too? Is this going to be a common occurrence?
