Hello there, my rig spec's are as followed.
Phenom II 940 @ 3.7GHZ
ATI Radeon 5870 @ 1050MHZ/1300MHZ.
4GB DDR2 PC8500 @ 1066MHZ.
2 22" 1920x1080 monitors.
Usualy, on games like Crysis, I can game using eyefinity and choose resolutions of 3840x1080, and I love to game like that, albiet on FPS's it's kind of pointless due to the crosshair being rendered down two screens (Which I hope to resolve when I get a third screen)
Anyways, is there any posibility for SH to support eyefinity? Most games can, simply by editing the configuration files etc, or setting resolution in game.
Or, could a dev make me a .cfg file which contains a resolution setting of 3840x1080? (A friend did this for me with Crysis when I had issues)

You can try to change the resolution manually yourself (unless we have hard cap on max resolution, don't think we have):
---
Edit and change the resolution from the sh.settings file in the local appdata folder:
C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Futuremark\Shattered Horizon\sh.settings
(AppData folder is a hidden folder, you have to enable viewing of hidden folders from Folder Options in Windows)
BUT. We do not support resolutions below 1.33 aspect ratio like 1280*1024 = 1.25, and yours is below 1.33 too so the above might not work as the game might reject it and default to some "accepted aspect ratio". You can always leave a request for support below 1.33 to our support site.
And if you are wondering why we don't support below 1.33 aspect ratio, it's because the HUD would be clipped on sides and the player would lose vital game information that way. We thought that 1.33 (4:3) should be the lowest resolution worth supporting.

When I got to set the resolution in game, it's capped at 1920x1080 (As Xmen origins wolverine is, however I can change that with one of the config files).
I've never paid much into the aspect ratio when using Eyefinity, it just expands the FOV as far as I've noticed, on Crysis for example I just see alot further to my left and right.
I'll try the attempted solution and appreciate the reply.
Cheers.
EDIT : I can't find that location.
I have 5 Hard drives (3 Sammy SSD's in RAID 0 = C:, only got my O/S on this, plus MSN etc etc, I've got a 250GB seagate = E:, I've got Steam installed on there, with all the games, and lastly a 1TB Sammy F1 G:, downloads stored here).
Where would it be if Steam and SH are on E:?

It is where your Users folder is (probably same drive as OS). Note that AppData is by default hidden. You have to enable hidden files and folders.

I now feel like an idiot :p.
I'll check now, cheers.

Opened the SETTINGS file in notepad, changed the resolution from
"1920" to "3840".
Will now test.

So, starting SH, it was running across two screens at 3840x1080, however once the main menu came up, it went to 1024x768.
Is there anywhere for the Dev's to maybe include eyefinity eventually?. It's kind of annoying for a new game pushing hardware, to not be able to utilize new technology (That isn't a bash, the game's brilliant).

Eventually is always a possibility because it's so far away :D Seriously, we do like new cool stuff, like 3D vision and space controllers, but some of them are just gimmicks while others would really add something to the game. Once the dust settles a bit I'm sure we'll start looking at those better ones as an possible future option / add-on but right now all our time goes to making the base game superperfect with tons of content.

I wouldn't call eyefinity a gimmick.. 3D vision is.. But playing at higher resolutions, isn't that just an advantage? Right now, the ATI drivers need a work on when it comes to working with eyefinity like.
But playing games at 5760 (When I get my third screen) x 1080, it's not really a gimmick, it's just enthusiast gaming lol.

I meant various "space controllers" that are not really that well suited for fast FPS games no matter how spacey they are :)

Fair enough. I assume running at 5760x1080 would cripple the cards anyways.

Personally I feel using dual monitors for gaming to be slightly pointless. When using dual monitors I like having one in front of me and one to the left or right. Main monitor for gaming. On the other hand 3 monitors work fine. An odd number of monitors(or some kind of bezel-less screen if your working with even number of monitors) is best.
Unless of course you have a game that can handle a second screen without dividing the same gameplay window.

As far as I know, before eyefinity the only way to do this before was TH2G? And then even that was only really enthusiasts that really had money to burn.
I'm running into 350 pound soon, that's plenty for a 22" 1920x1080 screen and an active DP to DVI adapter (Provided I can source one).
Or else I can wait for ATI to get there act together with drivers for eyefinity (So, 2 monitors on my 5870, one on my 5850 if I buy one) and buy a 5850 and a monitor.

Actually, the Novint Falcon is quite well suited to fast FPS games, a bunch of Source games have support for it (e.g. The Orange Box)

Im now suddenly out of my depth.
Time to return to some simple ATI FTW/Nvidia FTL speech lol.

+1 on the Novint Falcon. Hands down the best peripheral I've ever owned.

Time to return to some simple ATI FTW/Nvidia FTL speech lol.LOL!:D I'll be joinning you in the tri-monitor gaming front when I get my active DP -> DVI adapter in a week or two. I'd already gotten two additional 24" monitors (Benq G2400WD) about a month back, these will complement my Benq FP241W (yep, I'm a Benq HLM, or maybe I like the symetry of all monitors having the same brand):o

Good on ya fella. I'm using softth to do the same thing at the moment and triple screening is the way to go. I should imagine it would be even better again with eyefinity as you'll get a lot more frames per sec. I have a 3870 and run 3840x1024 everything on high except shaders (no aa though :( )

Well. as soon as my adapter arrives, I'm gonna fire up EyeFinity and post some pics here....or, in a new thread.;)

It's not necessary.
This takes to same location:
%appdata%\..\Local\Futuremark\Shattered Horizon\

Close but I use softth actually. It's free and offers a few benefits over the TH2G (it allows me to race triple screen on Live for speed at a resolution of 4800x1200@85hz for instance). But yeah, you'll be doing a lot of moseying around the WSG forums when you're tripled up.
As I use 3x 22inch CRT monitors I'm hoping that one of the manufacturers of the eyefinity cards will hear the penny drop and make a 3xdvi version as display port is even less use to me than most people. I heard a rumour from ATI that this could well be the case in the near future. If so, it's upgrade time. Be nice not to have to make the choice between all the bells and whistles and 3 screens.

Nope, I totally recall playing UT04 across two screens with my 6800. Wasn't really worthwhile though.

So uh, any updates on this front? It would be sick if this game supported Eyefinity and Surround, as that would drastically increase the vertigo factor since you're already fighting across all three axes.
