/Cue whining.

The wandering witch, kind of annoys me. She's gotten no actual new animation. All that was done was they took the Witches "run away out of sadness" animation from L4D, and used it as an alternative to sitting.

And then she walks around in the most ridiculous of ways. She'll walk diagonally, she hardly, actually, TURNS.

Worst part is, there's no physical indicator that you're angering her if you're close. Yeah, sure, the sound gets more annoying, but a deaf player, or someone that has decided to mute their speakers wouldn't know. There's no physical indicator, it bugs me.

You know a lot of deaf L4D players? ...and have you checked that the Full Captions don't actually indicate a witch-annoyed state?

I'm sorry? She walks around with her hands on her face, she has new animations. It just seems to me you know absolutely nothing whatsoever about programming and you're just trying to seem like you know anything. It's failing btw.

Firstly, what's with all the random commas thrown about? Secondly, what did you expect her to do? Cartwheels upside down? She walks around, that's what she's meant to be doing.

Ever heard of the FULL CAPTIONS you should be playing with ANYWAY?

Actually there are, she just isn't as MEAN as in the last game, and her GFX are better, they updated her. She never had a WALKING sprite in L4D, check again, it was running away, and screaming. Get near her and wait, she'll start to warn you with a pose and a GTFO growl.

That being said, I think both sitting and walking witches should be in the game, sitting witches would help slow players down more than walking. And for the turning... She turns, just not at 90 degree angles, what do you expect of a zombified crying woman?

EDIT- weird word to replace a certain word starting with -Pis- and anding in -sy-.

Ya, like I'm going to play with full captions, right. Speakers are for sound, while screens are for VIDEO.

before i got my x3's i enjoyed playing with the captions now it is really just habit ...as for the witch she is just BA sitting or standing she is still a great number five

Somebody's a touch angry. Oh, and you also actually missed my points. I'm proud of you.

She walks with her hands on her face. Play L4D, startle the Witch, have her kill someone, and watch her run away. Wait, does this animation look familiar to you? It sure does to me. It's the same thing.

And no, I'm not expecting her to cartwheel around ( despite the image making me chuckle a bit ). The fact that she walks around without turning, it's like she's hovering. It's just awkward pathing. But congrats on missing my point there. I was talking about the way she moved, not that she isn't doing acrobatics all over the place.

And woah, I play with full captions. Some people DON'T though. Not everyone has to play with full captions, for if they HAD to, it wouldn't be an option.

Case in point on that front.


I'm merely pointing out that there isn't a physical inidicator like in L4D whre the Witch would stand up and have a standing seizure. This is only a sound cue.

So cool your jets, and take the sand out of your vag. :)

actually the witch walking animation is different. It would look weird if she was walking with wide strides like her running animation. They also did some touch ups to the character model with some fine detail. If you crown a witch you can see this up close and personal. The other thing is the animation does change when she is annoyed. She stops and starts to take a stance looking around a bit, again you would have to be the one in close proximity to see this. So they just made it harder for people who don't pay attention like yourself OP.

The walking witch is annoying simply in that I accidentally startled her a few times thinking she was a normal infected and shooting her at a distance with dual pistols.

As for physical indicators? Pay attention. The Witch's pose changes when you get near her. If a player is deaf, they should be playing with captions on. If a player is playing muted, their loss, turn sound back on or turn on captions.

Left 4 Dead is one of those games that I just wouldn't want to play at all without sound. I'd miss the voice overs too much. :P I do like LT's idea about having walking and sitting witches though.

All I know is that Witch + chainsaw = dead Witch. It's awesome.

Fire ammo, however, just gets me killed.

I did one clunk with the bat, ran back, wound up and knocked her again to the floor. It might have been due to AI bullets hitting her ♥♥♥ though.

That would be the rigging and animation department. Not the programmers.

she is sitting on some of the boards.

this is due to the time of day/lighting on the levels. During daytime levels she wanders and at night she sits.
