Community ID Profile friends status bug

This bug is pretty old now and no one has reported it yet, so I will do it.

All friends that is logged on to their account will appear as "Online" instead of "Away"

It's fine to report bugs in forum posts here. I'll have a look a this issue.

Actually, I did look. Once I looked, I couldn't make any sense of the bug report. I don't recognize the window that's on the right hand side of the screen shot. Where is it from? What two windows are you comparing? Persona status shows up in a few different places in the UI, so it's imperative to be perfectly clear and precise about what you're observing.

When you are in Steam community and looking on peoples profile, all friends that is online/away/busy says online.

If I recall correctly some years ago we were told this was to prevent system overload from checking everyone's status and displaying them publicly. That or the resources were better spent elsewhere.

Not sure if that holds true any longer.
