Anyone else find it odd how much Ellis talks about him? I can't help but think that valve is pushing Keith to become the new Chicago Ted of l4d2, or at least have the same popularity. Just based on the fact that they're both subtle background characters taken way out of proportion. And his stories are pretty out there, much like Chicago Ted (gasp!) He could be just dialog material, but I'm still questioning it.

And I do think it's weird how much Ellis brings him up in conversation (well, only at the beginning of the campaigns, but the stories are pretty long). His "buddy" keith. Drinking buddies? Buddy buddies? Butt buddies? I think it would be hilarious if valve pulled a Dumbledore on Ellis.

So, what's your opinion on the whole Keith subject. Do you like him? His stories? What the intentions of mentioning him are? How about the Ellis and Keith relationship.

Nah... I think Keith is just Ellis's red neck buddy. Who isn't particularly bright.

Pretty sure it's based on this guy (http://www.keithellis.com/).

hahahahahaha see that's what I mean! Is Keith going to be the new representation of ridiculous ideas/stories? A new way for insulting sometimes intelligence? Kind of like Chicago Ted's reference to being godly amazing.

"Oh, did Keith give you that idea?" "You must of been spending time with Keith". I can see this being the new insult in the PC forums.

Whhooooooaaa that's pretty crazy. The political messages are endless! I don't like it. It's weird that they make Keith out to be such an idiot, yet this guy is suppose to be really smart, I wonder if there's some reasons for this. I obviously like uncovering things too much. But anyway good find sir.

Honestly, I think it's just Ellis's way of dealing with the situation. He's telling stupid stories about his best friend because he misses him. I guess they could be a homosexual couple but it sounds like they're old friends.

BTW is Keith still alive?

Either way, he could very well be the antithesis of Chicago Ted.

How dare you deceive me by posting nonsense from google search! I thought you did some in depth analysis research to find that out :p. I'm crushed, I even gave you a +rep for that :(. I hate being gullible.

There is also a comedian, attorney at law, doctor, and a guy in new york, new york with a facebook named Keith Ellis.

Haha!

Sorry to spoil your grand illusion of this mythical combo.

I was hoping to find something more interesting, like something on wikipedia about two male lovers/serial killers name Keith and Ellis.

I think Valve unintentionally made a character for part 3. It would be funny to hear Keiths side of all Ellis' stories.

I think that behind the 'I'm invincible' attitude Ellis is supposed to have, he misses his friend. He might carry on with his stories, but he is just wary of the infected world and is struggling with the reality that the world he knew and, (what it seems like to me,) his buddy from all his life, Keith, isn't going to be around anymore. I think he's just grieving--but grieving in a "oh, wow, that was fun right?" way that makes it seem like he thinks it's all a blast. People grieve that way sometimes--remembering the good times, even though there won't be any more adventures.

A good example was, "Did I ever tell you guys about the time Keith and I had to fight our way out of a burning building with zombies trying to get us at every turn? Oh, wait, that was with you guys. Man, I can't wait to tell Keith about that."

His stories add an element to the game that I really like. Denial is completely human, and it adds humanity to the game. That, or Ellis can't suspend his disbelief and really thinks Keith is alive--I would prefer the former, though, since Ellis is still fairly intelligent I'd say.

And as a plus, his stories are pretty damn funny at times. "You'd think a windshield is pretty sturdy from the looks, right? But that sunuva♥♥♥♥♥ flew right through it. Broke both his damn legs too."

3 words: Dissociative identity disorder

But I would love to see Keith in the next one, complaining about his redneck cousin.

Edit: and I'm sure that "This one time Keith and I..." are the new "I hate..."
