Allright, some times when i start up my games it get these black squares where effects used to be.
http://peecee.dk/uploads/112009/mw2_texture_fail.JPG
This will always result in low fps and crashing at next load screen or quitting.

Running at 800x600 ( yeah i know, it sucks ) automatic textures, but they're usually set to low by default.
I sometimes able to get a good 3 hour playing session without any problems.

This is the only game i get this issue in, played cod 4, l4d2 without these hookups.

I have updated my gfx driver(9.11), my audio driver. Made sure i werent eating all my ram up.

Specs.

P4P800 deluxe
P4 northwood 2.6@3.0 ghz
Kingston hyperx pc 3200 1 gb ram
Ati x1650
40 gb 5400 rpm hd

Thanks alot peeps. Over and out roger

are you useing the legacy driver?

if not it may be yor video card is having problems such as overheating.

Yes im using newest legacy driver from ati own driver webpage.

Overheating i dont think is the issue even from a fresh bootup i'll still will get the black boxes. Even replaced the stock fan (3-4 cm diameter) to a 8 cm diameter case fan.

is there dust in the heat sink at all? that can make the fan useless. also is the fan blowing on the heat sink, as they have an area near the size of your old fan that gets almost no airflow due to it being the location of the electromagnet. . check those and tell me

Yes checked all that and it runs pretty good.

The whole heat sink is getting cooled. Im not sure what you mean by electromagnet near the fan ?

Ati x1650

That's your problem. I had that card till christmas and i got a HD4670 and it's gone now. You just need a better card. Games are getting too high graphic for Old cards. Just get a new one. Preferrably a ASUS HD4870 Card. THat will last for ages... (2 years...THe ways things look atm)

These "black squares" looks like artefacts (some kind of error that the GPU does, sometimes because of overheating or too high graphics.). If you say you're running on 800 x 600 resolution, it mightbe the problem your PC is probably not powerful enough.
