We already have a Weekend Deal thread (http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=720271), so why not have one for the Midweek Madness? These deals are very similar to the Weekend Deals, except that they usually appear on Tuesdays, and end on Fridays.

Midweek Madness deals so far:

2009-12-15 The Last Remnant™ (http://store.steampowered.com/app/900770/) -- 75% off

2009-12-08 Medieval II: Total War (http://store.steampowered.com/app/4700/) -- 75% off

2009-12-01 Zeno Clash (http://store.steampowered.com/app/22200/) -- 66% off

2009-11-24 Plants vs. Zombies (http://store.steampowered.com/app/3590/) -- 50% off

2009-11-17 AaaaaAAaaaAAAaaAAAAaAAAAA!!! (http://store.steampowered.com/app/15520/) -- 50% off

2009-11-10 Hearts of Iron III (http://store.steampowered.com/app/25890/) -- 50% off

2009-11-10 Battlestations Pacific (http://store.steampowered.com/app/8170/) -- 50% off

2009-11-10 Battlestations: Midway (http://store.steampowered.com/app/6870/) -- 50% off

2009-11-03 -- No deal

2009-10-20 Assassin's Creed™: Director's Cut Edition (http://store.steampowered.com/app/15100/)[1] -- 75% off

2009-10-13 Sid Meier's Civilization® IV: The Complete Edition (http://store.steampowered.com/sub/1618/) -- 50% off

[1] Offer was available in North, Central, and South America only.

Thanks to TeeKae421 (http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/member.php?u=143424) for making this quite usable listing system first used in his Weekend Deal thread!

I honestly don't see a need for this thread (in my opinion), other than to maybe catalogue the actual deals.

Most of the time any deal, whether weekend or not is discussed in the Weekend Deal thread. Additionally, Weekend Deals are (for talkings sake) guaranteed pretty much every week. Midweeks? Not so much.

Think about it as a catalogue then, and discuss in the other topic. ;)

Just check the list in the first post. The first deal appeared on the 13th of October and starting from there, there was a deal each week, except one case, but sometimes that happens to the Weekend Deals also, New Years Eve for example.

For me it looks like that the Midweek Madness will be a regular deal each week and it deserves an own topic.

Sam and Max Season has been 33% off since before the 5 day long one day deal sales started. It appears though, that someone likes announcing it =) (It's been announced at least 3 times now -- maybe no one's buying?)

i'm a little confused by that, they did it once before aswell, for some other game, but 3 times...with absolutely no difference between each post, it's a little odd

Sorry you feel that way. It is one of my very favorite PC games of 2009, and probably the most unique game released all year. I'd recommend that everyone at least try the demo, and try to have an open mind about it.

I think it's a crying shame that games like Modern Warfare 2 probably sell more units in a single afternoon than games like Zeno Clash usually sell in their lifetimes. :(

the problem with Metacritic is it is that IGN is weighted in the same as no name Blogs and magazines no one has heard of.

Go through the games from highest to lowest scores, you will be scratching your head as you read Nancy Drew scoring higher then MW2 and Torchlight.............

Not that IGN is a particularly reliable source of opinion either, but... yeah, some of the crud that gets accounted in Metacritic's ratings is pretty shameful. I still remember the Red Orchestra review that basically said "this game is too hard, therefore it sucks" and brought the average down by 5 points or so by itself.

Does anybody remember the time when people looked at more than just a review's score to judge a game? when readers would look at the reviewer's personal experience with the game and compare it with their own expectations and tastes rather than seeing a single number and base their opinions solely on it? yeah, me neither.

As far as Zeno Clash goes, personally I thought it was great. Pretty fun first-person brawler, with a wacky storyline and great visuals (for a Source game). Kinda lacking in replayability and lenght, but for its price its an excellent deal, plus you get the models to play around in G-Mod as well as a bonus, for those that have it. But hey, its your five bucks, not mine.

it could score higher if it was a amazing game. Actually tried a couple of them and although not crap i wouldn't say it should score the same as mw2.

thats the problem, no consistency in the way the game is reviewed.

a game on metacritic can have a 90 with 2 reviews and another have a 70 with 60 reviews, most reviews being good and 2-3 no name reviews giving it a low ball score.

personally i use gamefaqs, reviews by players.

I want Bully as a Midweek Madness deal.

Why? It's a horribly broken and unpatched mess and among the worst ports I know.
I think the best example to how much care was put into the conversion is that in the default configuration several minigames are impossible to beat because the game honestly requires you to move the mouse wheel up and down at the same time!
Even if you own an Xbox 360 gamepad and you are able to control the game it suffers from serious graphic glitches and doesn't run at all on a huge amount of systems with more than 2gb ...
... and since it keeps leaking memory like crazy it manages to eat up 2gb of memory within 45-90 minutes to reliably crash once it managed to fill the entire RAM.

Bully: good game - horrible, horrible port.

I doubt we will see it on sale any time soon ... it would result in way too much disappointment and refund requests.

The game is pretty solid, but there are still some bugs which were never fixed. One that really annoyed me was enemy soldiers getting stuck between the ladder and the wall, I couldn't kill them so I would have to wait until the timer ran out before I won. There are a few other bugs but nothing really game breaking.

Also kakkerlak was right, I jumped the gun a bit early.

I may have to buy Medieval II now, and just wait for Kingdoms to have its own sale. My wife would freak out if I had the SOIAF mod running, seeing as she's one of the hordes waiting (and waiting, and waiting, and waiting) for A Dance With Dragons to be finished.

The game really isn't worth it. Sure it's Square Enix who's name is on the package, but it's just a disaster.

Storywise there is pretty much no immersion, it's terribly bland. Fine for a first J-RPG which you play I suppose, but comparing it to their other games it's a laughing stock.

Gameplay wise it's HORRIBLE, the entire game just screams PORT. It's barely playable with a mouse, you'll find yourself more frustrated on the freakin' game just refusing to run you where you desire unless you plug in a controller and play it as if you purchased it for a console than anything else.

The combat system also completely lacked inspiration, only thing it excels is size; however as we all know size doesn't matter.

All in all it's a big let down for a Square Enix J-RPG title. Rating it a 6.5/10 would be generous, whereas we all know the definite 9+ games they've delivered in the past.

Such a shame SE :(.
