I'll keep this up as long as I can handle the bandwidth.

I made a program so I didn't have to open an image editor to trim out the grey stuff and resave my item cards to share with friends. Then I went a little overboard...

Here is a flash based site where to upload your weapons and keep them in a nice area to share what you have with friends or post on forums.
The flash program will crop your image and compress to .png BEFORE it uploads to the server so you won't have to wait for 4MB+ files. It also lets you upload multiple images at a time.

After you have uploaded your loot, you can generate a link to a .png (http://thecardchest.com/gunshow/Mctittles/itemImages/itemImage10.png), .jpg (http://thecardchest.com/gunshow/Mctittles/itemImages/itemImage15.jpg), or animated .gif (http://thecardchest.com/gunshow/Mctittles/itemImages/itemImage13.gif).

OR..
You can link to your page of items (http://thecardchest.com/gunshow/Mctittles/), just one item page (http://thecardchest.com/gunshow/Mctittles/?item=16), or a category you create :).

I only had a small number of items to test with when I made this so there is going to probably be problems reading the information off some of your uploads. If you have any problems post here and link to the file that isn't working.

Could be a number of things. I didn't have that many items to test this on, so going to have to fix some stuff at first probably.

Thanks, I'll test these out tonight probably. Don't see anything different just looking, but since it is doing an image compare to find the weapon type, even a couple pixels difference can cause it to mess up.

very cool site, well made. i just uploaded some of the interesting items on my hunter, my account is waramp19.

all self-found, legit items of course.

edit: it appears the site thinks class mods are revolvers?
edit 2: on second inspection, the weapons classifications on the left side don't appear to really work :(
edit 3: on third inspection, i see the tabs on the sides are actually buttons and i'm dumb :)

Ok, it should work for your smg's now. I think you were on the right track with the company. Seemed to change the size of the trim image a bit with how it extended outside.

there arent that many are there? i've only seen three; a sniper, a revolver and a shotgun. and one person mods all his guns to have a purple glow, but the weapon stats are legit

Awesome tool.

Suggestions:
- Parse the text and stats of the items from the uploaded images and store them in text format so people can search them.
- Let people sort by number of comments, most recent comments.
- Give people a dropdown for "How did you get this?" with the choices "Self-Found" "Friend Found" "Given by Stranger" "Modified"

Some good suggestions. I'll add in the sort feature for the page. Also going to fix it so it remembers your place on the back button.
The dropdown for sounds good too so I'll probably add that.

AS for parsing the text. Would LOVE to be able to do that but def out of the scope of this project as would be near impossible to do with all the possible variations of text position/size/background.

Will implement those other ideas soon though!

Like the TF2 items backpack viewer, this program is awesome and is something that the developer should have created to work with the game. It'd be even better if people could trade items through a program like this. (in or out of game)

I sent you a PM on where you can send them for me to have a look at. I'm not storing them as they get changed a bit before it uploads them.

Made a couple updates to the main page for easier browsing...
It now remembers your spot and selections when you press the back button from another page.
Added options to sort by #comments, latest comments, and user name.

Will add this to the sub pages soon too. More on the way...

not bad! the accuracy is low for my liking, but the damage and clip size are great. here are the two best snipers i've found so far after playthrough 2: one vanilla for shield penetration/critical hits, and a volcano for absurd fire damage.

recoil reduction is great on the 1st sniper, it makes a huge difference for rapid-fire shooting at a distance

That liquid lance is pretty badass with that fire rate and accuracy/recoil reduction.

Just thinking about all the loot out there is giving me the itch to play more heh...so addictive!

Cool -- got some nice stuff there. You can categorize it too if you want to show like only what you have equipped or whatever. If you check my page (http://thecardchest.com/gunshow/Flagg/) you'll see a category button that has my hunters current equipped stuff. (warning prepare to not be blown away heh)

Awesome, love the customization tags on the guns themselves, makes it easier for my buds to know what gun i was talking about in game when I call it "the chanti venom" and they have an associating pic with it.

Some of these links have me impressed, I haven't found a shield above that 1674 or something - so to see one at 1900 something was pretty awesome.

I found a broken weapon the other day, a shotgun with 2 conflicting attributes (Hydra and "Holy Crap! It shoots rockets"). I'm curious to know if there are any other types of Borked weapons out there.
