What exactly does this do?

For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, click here. (http://img689.imageshack.us/img689/7549/gamesexplorer.jpg)

I tried clicking it, but it just says failed to add to explorer when I do so, and this is my only Steam game that has this option.

Well it's supposed to put a icon inside your games explorer folder.

You know Start/Games(on Win7 at least, I think in Vista too). I personally don't create game icons for my Steam games and never put any of my Steam games in there. I keep my retail in the Windows game folder(games explorer) and Steam games on the Steam page.

If you want an Icon in there just r-click on the game create a desktop icon and move it to the folder. That is if you can't get it to do it's thing the other way.

Yeah, I got an icon for the game already, I was just confused about what the button actually did. I never use that games folder anyways, I just make shortcuts for my most played games and leave them on my desktop.

So if you don't want that no need to bother with it. I used to put my icons on the desktop but between Steam and retail and 20 years of gaming. Way way too many to put on the desktop. I can't find anything. I never know what I'm going to want to play at any one time anyway so there really aren't any "favorites" to put icons up for me.:D

They should update it to rather show the box art in Games Explorer, like the older Serious Sam games.

The game should already be added to the Games Explorer, I'd say that is why it reports error when trying to add it (again). That option is there just in case it gets deleted.

When I bought the Serious Sam HD Collection last week, Steam installed the two Classic versions but mislabelled them both as Serious Sam: The First Encounter so I had two entries showing under Games Explorer. When I checked the registry GameUX settings it showed that one of them was actually Serious Sam: The Second Encounter. Very sloppy.

Also I cannot add an icon for Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter even though I have one for the first game. I keep getting a "failed" error message, which sometimes happens if an entry already exists, but in this case there isn't one.

Today I re-installed the Second Encounter and my game explorer is still without its icon... The first encounter icon is OK..

I didn't have any Sam game in my Game Explorer and I tried adding SSHD:TSE into it. Steam tells me it cannot add it, but an icon is added there, it just says "Serious Sam".
What I found out is that icon points to my classic SS:TFE which I have installed in another partition than Steam, though I also have the classic in Steam aswell.

Weird stuff lol
