Note: Post here if you have encountered the following bug. Need to see how many are effected.

With the latest patch, it seems that Claymores are bugged. I noticed today that lots of them exploded but did absolutely no damage, let alone a death. So I tested it. I went up behind this guy who was camping and was not moving, so I planted the claymore. 2 seconds later, it exploded and he took no damage at all. This confirmed the bug. Note that the claymore does do its job a few times but usually its not causing any damage.

That's probably more to do with latency. I've experienced it too before the patch. Walked over a claymore without any damage whatsoever.

Again, he was standing there and I behind him. He did not move while I was planting it and did not move while it exploded. Keep an eye out for it. My ping was fine and it wouldnt matter as nobody was moving for latency to effect. Registry is the issue here. The explosion did not registry as damage towards him.

Sweet. Claymores are annoying, let's hope they don't fix it :D

This happened to me today, eh ran in front of it and killed me, and another time he stood on top of one, killing me, not killing him. The 'hit' registers, but it doesn't kill or bring near death...no there was nothing stopping him from taking the full brunts of it.

Confirmed, It doesn't work... Also, They have a longer delay. :(

I still get claymore kills all the time. Just gotta place the claymore in the right spot so the guy eats the full blast and it detonates before he is over it. The speed knifers glitching the care package can run right through it, but I just tube them or shoot with an AA-12 and that solves that issue.

Noticed it as well, this might explain why the SPAS-12 has problems as well.

Been using them all day, plenty of kills, can't see any difference personally.

I can agree with the spas 12 "problems" tho I think that is latency related. It is strange tho how it can kill at the same distance of the akimbo 1887 b4 the "fix" and yet completely miss while ADS'd at close range.

Yeah, can be annoying, one time i dropped a claymore right below me and got charged by someone with the tac knife lightweight, marathon setup, i put 3 or 4 shots into him with the G18 before he lunged at me with his blade and i thought to myself here comes my claymore payback challenge for this prestige level, but nope, watching the killcam, he was stood directly above the claymore, it exploded right underneath him and he took no damage whatsoever.

So it seems as if the damage for the claymore is possibly only spread from the X & Z axis, within a short radius.

Ill give it a shot.
I use claymores on my AK and rush classes, to watch my back while I go one direction.

This better not be true...
If they nerfed them, why? Scrambler Pro is there for a reason...

might be more of a problem if you play normal, normal sucks ♥♥♥ for killing because the damage is just too ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ly low.

What's even more of a annoyance is I also noticed the SCAR-H bugged since the latest patch. Again, I took my time to kill an opponent to test it out and 95% of the bullets did not register. What is going on here..? Ping was not an issue, it was under 100. Besides, the opponent was not moving and I took my time kill him.

Claymores have always been quite sh*t. I run into them a lot and just jump when I hear the click and I mostly survive. If you don't have a care package in your hand with lightweight perk or something, you shouldn't survive.

I set a claymore...it exploded from a guy above me!? ...
One exploded cause someone ran by the other side of the wall from outside ....

I had one explode on my own team mate in Hardcore TDM. We both said "What the hell!?"

Ive seen some people walk past it..i hear click..but no bang. The other player and i actually stood there for a second...felt like 4 seconds...neither of us shot at eachother and both looked at the claymore like "!?!?!?!" then he shot me.

I've noticed I have to reverse the laser direction on hallways or paths I want it to trip on so they get caught in the blast...

It either triggers when it shouldn't,
Triggers late (no perk for that on enemy causing it)
Or triggers on my team mate...

hell It even blew me up and my other team mate did the same in one game...walked past our own claymores and we tripped it.

If you don't like them, just use the Sit Rep perk. Problem solved. Clays are pretty much useless in this game now. Too many ways to get around them now when you consider lag, damage decrease, lightweight perk delay, flashes and stuns countering them, and Sit Rep. All you need is the Sit Rep perk- nothing else to counter them.

I hardly get ANY kills with them so I don't even use them now. IW nerfed them way too much from COD4.

Every now and then I get a player running through a claymore but nothing to be upset about. Right speed and the right angle you can avoid being killed by them.

I love my claymores and the people that complain are the people that are being rip apart by them ;)

It is best to plant claymores in spots where enemy would be rather walking slowly, like just around corner. When running, claymore is not lethal, even without marathon or lightweight, unless you have LMG equipped.
Anyway,they are not very effective, but complains from hit ppl are priceless ;)

YES!!!, same issue, i just thought oh must be running through it or whatever, but yea couldnt explain it, until in a FFA i saw a dude crouch walk through it and no damage at all, confirmed in killkam.

my claymores never work.. people are always walking right past them BEFORE the thing explodes.

and as a very meaningful example to show just how pathetic my claymores are...
in the map INVASION there is a building that has a staircase behind it.
this building is a place to snipe as it looks across the full length of the map (sideways) and the general location is close to the gas station.

there are two points of entry.. one way is to climb a ladder and come through a window from the balcony.
the other way to enter is by using the stairs behind the building and then at the top of the stairs there is a doorway that is partially boarded shut.

the only way to get through the doorway is to crouch and walk into the building.
i put my claymores right there where the person has to crouch.

AND I PUT MY CLAYMORES back a little bit so the red vines arent visible from the outside.

FOUR TIMES someone **crouched** past my claymore without dieing.
2-3 of those times the claymore went off abnormally late.
I SAID abnormally BECAUSE it was not the length of 'delayed claymore detonation' that can be had by a perk.
it was only half the time.. possibly only 1/3rd of the 'delayed claymore activation'

i have gone through enemy claymores and i have heard more than two different detonation sequences.
(there should only be two different sequences, one that is normal and then the other 'delayed' version that comes from the perk.

1. tick.boom *very quick* (i couldnt run past the claymore to save my life.. IT WAS THAT QUICK)
2. tick--boom *lagged* (this is the abnormal one)
3. tick-..-boom *enough time to hear the 'tick' and spin around to shoot at the person* (this is the 'delayed' perk one)

yesterday i was playing with claymores everytime the map INVASION came.

YOU CANT CROUCH PAST A CLAYMORE WITHOUT IT BLOWING UP FIRST.. i'm not a fool or an idiot, but judging the claymore reaction time, it seems i am to be taken as one.

and above where i said 2-3 of the times the explosion was delayed.. i forgot to mention about the other 1-2 times.

those 1-2 times, the claymore went off as the person was standing directly above it and the person just kept on walking inside as if nothing happened.

strangly enough.. the claymore did work correctly two times yesterday in the same location.

i was playing with claymores because i was using a thermal scope.
and there was always a gun fight downstairs outside the building.. so i got the pleasure to duck down behind a chair and watch/wait for the enemy to come up into the building after just shooting a fellow teammate (which i heard and watched on the mini map viewer)

Incase it aint obvious, and if people dident already put it in here, claymores only explodes in a 45~ degree arc infront of it.

You can put down a claymore, and if you shoot it while standing right on it, you will not die.

Claymores do not explode backwards either.

Put a C4 infront of it. That should get you some kills.

If you sprint (even without marathon and lightweight) then you can pass right over them without getting damage from the explosion.

It takes some time from the point you pass infont of it to explode and in this time if you are sprinting from before you can run out of it's explosive radius.

omw i hope this doesnt get fixed but it seems as though not everyone is getting it...
...so i hope it gets worse cuz claymores(gaymores as i like to call them) are noob

Please stop bumping this thread. Claymores are deadly inefficient as usual because I use Marathon and Lightweight anyway.
