UT2004 problems playing online

Hey guys, so I recently bought the unreal deal pack since it was only $13. Then I went to play it online, and I got the error saying that my cdkey couldn't be validated. That's pretty much it. There aren't any other details to this problem. I tried the CDkey issues fix for UT2004 in the knowledge base, still nothing. WHYYYYY

Does the error "The UT2004 Master Server has been unable to validate this copy of Unreal Tournament 2004. If the problem persists, please contact Atari Technical Support." appear? cause that's exactly what i get... don't know why, cause i too got it from steam.

hey here's what i just did now to fix it. I went to this link on steam support, and followed the steps to verify integrity of GCF files. Follow the steps, then close out of steam. Reopen steam as administrator, and if anything about 'conflicting files in cloud' comes up, just download the info (not upload to cloud, the other one). Then it should work.
