A lot of steam games have achievements that can be seen if you navigate to a persons profile, click on their games, search for a game in question, and click on their stats...

Now this is probably the little bit of vanity in me, but I'd really like to be able to display some of my achievements a little bit more prominently in my profile. Yeah... I know say getting your very first kill in Defense Grid isn't exactly amazing... But I'd like the option to maybe to display the most recently obtained achievements for a game on my Steam profile, or maybe the option to display select ones, or the top (most difficult) achievements I've unlocked.

I understand most people don't really care about them... and even more don't care about someone else's achievements, but my profile is all about ME... <.< I'd think that some of the other people here feel the same way, or hope anyway.

I'm sorry if this has been suggested already.

i like the idea, some ppl like achievement so whats wrong with showing off something that your proud u did.

but the other thing i want to see is a tracker or something, like over all this person has ##/## possible achievements (were 2nd number is the total achievements your owned games adds up to.)

or even a overall score, add point values of achievements say 1 thru 5 based on difficulty or something. And don't tell me its too much of work to add that, rely how hard can it be u can even use the % of ppl who has the achievement to determine point value.

+80% 1 point
60%-80% 2 points
40%-60% 3 points
20%-40% 4 points
0%-20% 5 points

idk ur post just got me thinking :)

EDIT: Okay... pretend all the hearts actually represent a semi-famous website which hosts tens of thousands of flash movies and games, and is owned by Tom Fulp. I didn't realize the site was censored here... possibly due to some NSFW content, I guess.

Aye... the website ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.com has a great set up for example in regards to achievements, or 'medals' as they call them on ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Each medal is worth a certain number of points... but also a player can easily see all their achievements in one place. The first page of the players profile simply displays the most recently unlocked achievements. But one click leads to a page that shows all the games the player has earned achievements for, and which achievements.

Now I realize ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is probably set up differently because it's all flash based games, if steam already tracks achievements, I don't see why they couldn't be better organized, or more easily displayed.

First of all, I'd prefer they make it so that your achievements actually go for something. Like, say, points. You then can later use them at a shop in steam... Alright? But to get to my point, I diagree. It's obvious people don't just go to others profiles to check out your "newest updates." And it wouldn't make the change if those "newest updates" where achievements. Who cares!? Like, 2 of your steam friends? It's pointless. It's almost exactly like them just going into your profile, under your game stats. No biggy...
