Unable to connect to the servers

hi

has anyone else had a problem connecting the game servers?

i opend the tcp/3638 port in my firewall and added the game EXE to the exlution list in my Windows firewall

Yes constantly..have not plyed the game in 3 weeks since i bought it. I put a ticket in to steam and that disappeared and then I emailed them and that recieved not reply. We were ripped off!

the message is: "could not connect to the servers. The games servers could not be reached. We apologize for inconvenience. Please, try again in a few moments."

The authentication servers should still be up, though. Or doesn't the Steam version contain the solo patch?

Guys they have shut down their servers. They did the exact same thing with Silverfall. Monte Cristo has gone bust (seriously) they were on their last dregs it seems with Cities XL and not enough buyers. It serves them right for what they have done to their customers.

Thank goodness Monte Cristo is out the window.

I contacted MC before they went bust about what happens if they should go belly up, their response was that the authentication servers are not with them, they are held with another company and that they will continue to run even if MC disappears. Whether or not they were pulling my leg I don't know, but it seems to make sence to hold the authentication servers with a 3rd party service for just this reason.

Oh and I just logged in and authenticated and so it's WORKING just fine.
