i just crashed at the ending of the first flashback. i checked on internet for a patch, and it should fix the crash i incurred in:

You are about to install the Indigo Prophecy patch.
It will upgrade your version to 1.1. Your previous save games will remain usable once the patch is installed.

Here is a list of the issues fixed by this patch

- In the level "Waking up", if Lucas dies the policeman doesn't show up at the door anymore.
- The random freeze on the loading screen in the level "Police Work" doesn't occur anymore.
- The freeze issue in the level "cemetery" when Lucas runs out of hangar after time run out is solved.
- The freeze issue in the level "Carla's appartment" when the user switches from Carla to Tyler is fixed.
- Fix a problem of activation of Tommy entrance cinematics
- The crash during the level "basketball" on some specific configurations is fixed.
- Fix a flying guitar bug!

Yes, the game is still version 1.0, as proven in the Unpatched games on Steam (is your game up to date?) (http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1100500)-thread.

Annoy the hell out of Valve and Atari. Over and over and over again, until they distribute the patch.

Well, if by all this time Valve hasnīt patched this, itīs clear they just dont care.

If I knew I would never bought this game.

How frustrating it is to buy a game that just doesnt work.

It's not Valve that patches the game, as they didn't make it. It's the publisher/developer that would give the patch to Valve for Steam's use.

Furthermore, the game does work for others without the patch. All you can really do is keep sending some emails to Atari explaining that your Steam version encounters bugs that were fixed in the retail patch.

I hope whatever patch Atari releases can fix my screen glitch problem. My taskbar flashes erratically and randomly into my game. All. The. Time.

They wont release any new patch, you can be certain.

I would be happy if they would integrate the existing patch with the Steam game version, but I donīt have hopes for it as well.
Afterall, the game is 5 years old already. Nobody is working on itīs support anmymore.

Beyond Good & Evil used to have this problem for me at 1280x1024. Try running at a different resolution and/or disabling Steam overlay.

Incase anyone else finds this either because I did it much faster the second time or because I disabled the Steam overlay it let me complete it that time. Thanks to kalirion for mentioning it.

I'm surprised there's no community patch or some work around with the official patch out there. This game clearly needs it.
