In game, I can use the 360 controller. But when I try to launch the gamepad configuration, I get this message. Is there any way around this? The game doesn't let me change the thumbsticks.

And other problems I'm having... why is the game windowed? And why is the max resolution 1280x960? My native res is 1680x1050... This game is pissing me off. Even at $14, I'm feeling like I wasted my money. Navigating through the menus is a huge pain, even with the keyboard. Why the hell is ESC set to select??

GRRRRRRR :mad:

Yeah, it's quite a terrible port, I agree. The game itself is very fun, though, once you get it to work.

You can get the controller to work with xpadder or a similar keymapping program.
Fullscreen is activated with alt+enter
And I think you can change the resolution in the DMC3CE.ini file, not sure, though.

[Controller (XBOX 360 For Windows)]
START = 7
SELECT = 6
CIRCLE = 1
TRIANGLE = 3
SQUARE = 2
CROSS = 0
L1 = 4
R1 = 5
L2 = 11
R2 = 12
L3 = 8
R3 = 9
L<->R = 1

add this to your ini, replace the controller name with the one you see in the gamecontroller program if you have a wireless one.
The game is a terrible port, but the gameplay is far superior to DMC4 in my oppinion, faster, harder and not so many puzzles (at least up to level 3 where i stopped after my 20th death or so :D, im horrible at this game it seems)

edit: you still wont be able to launch the config program, but the game has switched analog sticks now. no weird drivers needed, only drawback is you cant use the analog triggers and lack one button to map all controls.

^^ Sweet, I got the controller working perfectly, thanks!

I tried to change the resolution in the ini file, but it doesn't seem to do anything. It still opens at 640 x 480, like it was set to before.

The game won't run widescreen. The way I've found to deal with this is to set your monitor to the highest 4:3 resolution it will go up to, then start the game, press Alt+Enter to go fullscreen, and you should be able to change your resolution using the in game option to the highest. After that, the game will run at this resolution full screen every time, even if you change your desktop resolution back. Just don't mess with the resolution again in-game or it will revert to 640x480.

Um... I'm kind of new at this. Could you tell me where to get or link me one of these keymapping programs? I'm not good at computers and I don't want to download the wrong thing and completely screw up my computer... again.

Never mind, I found xpadder and am going to try with that.
