Im posting that message for a friend who can't speak english well and that have is account not allowed to post yet.


Hello customer service,
I have Cod 6 since 15.9.2009, but now I have a problem with it
Now when I launch it I receive an in-game error message as seen in the screenshot I provided below.

Here is an approximate translation of the message since I played the game in French :
2"Your data are from an old version of the game. You must re-initialize your rank and unlocked objects to continue."

I get this message each time I want to play online, and thus I have lost my old rank and now Im always beginning anew.
So if you can suggest me what I can do to stop that I'll gladly accept your help.

I suggest filing a complaint with the BBB as they appear to be actively refusing to acknowledge this issue.

Seems its not locally updating your files or its not putting them on IWNet server and it thinks your new each time, try making your steamapps\common folder NOT read only. Also check your ports are open as per the sticky.

He is using a Pirated Copy of the game. He cannot play because the new patch prevents players from playing with hacked copies of the game.

Tell him to fix the error he needs to buy a legit copy of the game.

Are you joking, I'm in Prestige Mode 2 and it seems like I can not even kill anyone anymore. I can not even call in a UAV.
I'm ready to give this game up, Looks like the cheaters and hackers win.

Haha same, 5th prestige and I'm losing my juice. Couldn't get a single predator missle in 3-4 games of ground war

I'm just lucky, but I've seen less hackers than I can count on one hand, and I've owned the game since the second week it came out. Maybe you're just in a downturn.
For the record, Level 51 Prestige 2.

I've got the same problem, and I got my copy of the game from a disk, at WalMart.
