If you're on Windows 7, you will have to copy them under this path: "c:\users\your_username\Appdata\Roaming\LucasArts\T he Secret of Monkey Island Special Edition\"
The path should be similar to other windows versions as well. Just notice the "appdata" folder is a hidden one so it wont be displayed unless you set your explorer to do so.

Thats great news. I tried loading up MI special edition the other day and it acted like it was the first time I was playing it by checking the Direct X etc.

When I finally got in game all my saves had gone :(

Ironically I was on chapter 3 so this is a godsend.

I've lost my savegames too and found this thread. Was very helpful, because I was in chapter III myself.

I had a few percent more, but that's alright. Thank you very much for uploading the savegames.

They should implement the steam cloud to every game (optionally).

If anyone has problem with starting the game after copying the savegames, you should experiment with the *.ini file. Trying different entries under language and resolution fixed it for me.
