Just head to EA store and it's probably like 8$ or so. Cost around 10$ for me. This is the Deluxe Edition which includes Northern Strike.

But go for BF2142, it's far better than BF2 in every single way.

Gumz , Dice patched out the ability to move Titans in game as a cure for a few years , more recently some servers have it running to move Titans again so I believe it's fixed , 2142 is an awesome game in it's own right , and the NorthernStrike add-on is icing on the cake to it.

loooool when is the last time you played 2142? I loaded that game up right before this beta came out and the controls and movement, while not horrible, are not nearly as responsive as BC2. Not to mention there are still many glitches left in that game that have been there since it was released...Not that that actually stopped me from logging more hours in that game than any other.

I can't wait for this game to hit steam. I've been playing the BF series since BF1942. I always felt BF2142 was a bit more polished than BF2. Yes it has it's flaws but still a very enjoyable game.

Unfortunately I've lost my BF2142 account and CD box so I'll have to get it again. I'm hoping after it gets released we get a discount weekend soon, because I don't want to pay 20 EUR or more (BF2 currently has that price) since I already payed full price in the past. I'm still kicking myself for not buying BF2 on the new year discount sale.

Of the classes that you can play in the game, I feel like the medic was overpowered version of the assault class. And the assault class itself is the most under utilized class of 2142.

I like BFBC2 class distinction better.

I like 2142, Though it don't have many choices of weapons per class, the weapons are distinctive gameplay wise.

Battlefield 2142 really is a great game. I was even satisfied when I bought the Northern Strike booster pack for it... New maps, with a theme, new weapons, new vehicles, new gadgets. In some ways, BF2142 is better than what BF:BC2 will be. It certainly has features that BC2 doesn't. It's well balanced and the classes are well put together. It did have its problems though... lots of map glitches and lag while fighting on the Titans on 64 player servers.

I'm almost afraid to reinstall BF2142, because I might start playing it again instead of BF:BC2 which I've already pre-ordered and paid for and am looking forward to. :)

There's 2 ways by which I mean sluggish. Aiming down sights and reloading take longer than they did in 2/2142 which has slowed the pace down significantly for me. Secondly, spawn points are few and far between meaning I always end up a long distance from the action unless there is the option to spawn on squad leader. Obviously this could just be this level and the rush style of gameplay which I have not used before as BC1 was not for PC. I just hope there's some good traditional battlefield capture the flag gameplay.

Highly anticipating 2142's release to Steam. All of my Battlefield CDs are all battered and bruised and the patches take very long to download and then apply to the game. Just about to purchase the BF2 collection too on Steam! The best thing about it is they are the best FPS games of its time and they're going to be cheap no doubt too! :D

Note to all BC players: these are the true Battlefield games - 64 player battles, proper Conquest maps (not maps that have just 3 or 4 capture points..), better squad systems (in my opinion) and commanders, great vehicle combat and massive maps! I recommend the old games !

2142 had so much potential, but the lack of content really killed it.
They removed so many vehicles, and the ones that were worth a damn went to waste because players who couldn't play would just kamikaze ground tanks/walkers with aircraft.

I did like the dogtag system a lot though.

I don't know, might purchase it if the community isn't totally destroyed like Battlefield 2's is.

I bought 2142 (it's my second BF game) on last November 2010 on EA Store I play 3-4 times at week and I found lots of players on Assault Lines, Conquest and Titan.

My favorite servers are: Doorman is god (conquest) and TBG clan servers.

Latest patch is 1.51 that came just a few days ago.

However definitively 2142 is not noob friendly pretty hard at the beginning with all classes, kits, squads, orders, weird map symbols.

I don't know where do you live but I can only find just 1 Camp Gibraltar server.

I usually play Conquest on Doorman is god server or TBG Clan server (they added to the rotation the Northern strike maps + new ones).

Titan I play it through TBG or other servers.

Camp Gibraltar server is very crowded always but I avoid it also nowadays is more easier to find games on Northern Strike maps or Strike at K. than older Verdun (my favorite) or Suez.

I bought 2142 in last October but I didn`t start playing until December... I consider this game amazing very different the only thing that they missed is the lack of drones.

The walkers are fun, sniper really sucks. BTW with new 1.51 patch they improved some textures.

So I get this question a lot about what is taking so long bringing BF2142 to STEAM.

First there was the requirement of v1.51 on PC to be completed and released. Then, as some of you know from the forums, the plan was to wait for the Mac conversion to be completed before releasing on STEAM. However, the Mac conversion is taking longer than expected so this week the full version of BF2142 incluing v1.51 and Northern Strike went off to go through its process of being STEAM wrapped.

This is usually a pretty quick process but at this time I don’t have more exact dates as that will come down to Valve and EA discussions and agreements. As soon as I hear of a date that BF2142 will go on STEAM I will let you know.

Mac users, v1.51 including all the content is coming but there is no ETA on that yet either.

For those who have been asking, DVD and EA Store codes will not work with STEAM so you will not be able to redeem your code and have the option of downloading through STEAM instead of using disc or EA Store.

Bazajaytee is the DICE producer in charge of BF2/BF2142.

Sorry to hear that. I bought it yesterday and at first it crashed on startup on my Win 7 64 bit system. I manually updated Punkbuster and it's now running well in compatibility mode with Win XP SP 2.

I've joined a few different servers and all of them have had aimbots on them. So I just said screw it and played anyway. Then after the aimbots left it was nothing but tards running around with c4 throwing it and committing suicide.

The game itself seems fun. Unfortunately, the players ruined it within 20 matches for me.

Also, random deviation is stupid. 3 times in those matches I was no more than 20 meters away and my awful luck made most of the shots miss despite aiming for center mass on non-moving people. Then they turn and get lucky shots and it's over.

They also basically noobified everything else from BF2. It's almost impossible to crash any of the air support.

I'll still try it again at some point, but I've been unimpressed thus far.

I haven't seen any cheaters in a few hours of gameplay and every squad I joined was working together as a team to capture bases and destroy enemy Titans. I've enjoyed the game so far.

The random deviation is a relic and annoying but you have to remember you're playing a 5 year old game that is a polished but not necessarily superior version of BF2.

The only thing 2142 doesn't have over BFBC2 is player numbers. Other than that it's superior in every way there is from hit reg to game mechanics. It's why BFBC2 is looked at by an intelligent Battlefield player as a devolution of the franchise rather than something that adds to it. Destruction is cool but it brings it's own issues such as if you adjust map length it destroys balance.

You can add the game as a non-Steam shortcut so you can use Steam to launch the game, but it won't be tied to your Steam account and you won't have all the benefits that comes from Steam.

I bought 2142 years ago and would consider playing it again if Steam would manage it.
(I was going to start playing again last year but finding the pages with the updates on was like a maze.. there was no direct link to it, I'd imagine adding it to Steam would make the update process easier).

2142 was the best in the BF series, BF3 is a joke in comparison and I only just bought that an hour ago. It baffles me why they decided to go the route of requiring a browser for every time you want to do anything... it's not a browser based game so it shouldn't act like one.

Not true at all. both EA and Valve have stated that money is not the issue, its a dispute of EAs DLC distribution method. EA want their titles available on Steam but also want full control over the DLC distribution which they want to be handled by Origin (and yes, if you buy a game on Steam it does also appear in Origin too).

Valve say that their license clearly states that game purchased from Steam must have all patches and additional content delivered through Steam (prime example is BFBC2 which comes with its own autopatcher and et the Steam version still uses Steam to update).

Just head to EA store and it's probably like 8$ or so. Cost around 10$ for me. This is the Deluxe Edition which includes Northern Strike.

But go for BF2142, it's far better than BF2 in every single way.

Oh and don't think it's a mod because.

It got new textures.
New animations
New models
New Game mode
New vehicles
New weapons
New rank system
New and somewhat unique weapons
Rewarding Squad play
APCs that make mince meat out of soldiers :D

Yes and it was.

It was far more balanced and the classes didn't need to have 9 of them with most being useless with the exception of doing one thing.

Like why be Assault class with grenade launcher when you can just be Medic with grenades and instant heal medkits?

Along with lots of other problems that BF2 had that was just bad. Unbalanced weapons being the prime target.

The movement and shooting is pretty much the same as in BF2. But the Balance is so much better. No more 40 damage LMG known as PKM. This was in one patch turned to a sniper. I got like 1500 kills with it during that time. I out sniped snipers with it. It was insane.

And it's $7.49 through origin while the sales last. I'd buy it but it doesn't seem worth it if the player base isn't there.
