Hi. I've been getting more and more pissed at the increase of aimbotters in MW2 online lately, and I came to realize something. They're really easy to recognize in the killcam. So, instead of having a process/memory search for aimbots, how about you start analyzing killcams? All aimbots I've seen have been so that the shooter went from staring at nothing to a straight headshot instantly. It shouldn't be hard to make a program that can recognize this.

A normal person will have an accelleration curve when quickly changing his aim from one point to another, he will end up at different points around the chest or head. The Aimbotter has only one single input that puts him straight at a perfect headshot.

Now, people can ask if aimbotters can't just program their bot to fool the analyzer. However, for this to happen, the programmer will have to make the code larger, take more power, and hopefully easier to spot with VAC. And, it'll also mean that their aimbot will have to be unstabilized, so they might actually miss a bit, thus reducing the "joy" that they feel when they play.

Oh, and please make a report cheater button that'll give a remark on an account. As people can change their nicks back and forth, nothing else than an integrated button can work.
I'd say that if a guy reports a ton of people, it'll get anulled and removed from the system, if a guy gets a lot of remarks, maybe get someone to spectate. Oh, and don't let people see how many remarks they have, so they don't turn off their cheats when they're in the red.

Please don't let PC gaming online go obsolete because of cheaters...

you cant report players but you can report cheats or hacks. if you find one, you can send a link to a moderator (silicon vampire for example) and the mod will forward the hack to to the VAC team.

I don't think detecting the cheats is a problem, so reporting or additional detection systems shouldn't be necessary. Though they would probably help with the private/undetectable cheats, the report feature at least would be too much trouble compared to the amount of cheaters it'd catch (Not counting those VAC would've caught anyways, of course)

It is true that it would be a lot of work for them to look through the reports. However, if detecting cheats isn't such a problem, how come I've met 6 cheaters the last two weeks of gaming? Now, the wallhackers are annoying, but they usually don't manage to ruin my day completely, however, the aimbotters just ruin everything. They run into the middle of the street and just kill everything.

And yes, I played CS in the days of 1.3 and so, and remember how incredibly many cheaters there were before, so I don't believe that VAC isn't working, but there's always room for improvement.

Almost all the "pay" subscription aimbots that 99% of cheaters nowadays use already have this feature. Most who are "raging" turn it off. That said 99% of players who cheat try to look legit keep it turned on.

It's really not that much larger code, just assigned each place a random number and the bot picks a number at random... with modern CPU's controlling this there is no performance or stability issues with it.

almost every aimbot has it set to randomize the shots, not only headshots.

Having people reporting cheaters sounds like a very foolish idea, sounds like some kind of Gestapo regime. (Yes, yes Godwins law and what not.)

And not to mention the fact that VAC does a pretty good job anyway and doesn't cause all the trouble that punkbuster does. Plus not every game has a kill cam? I know that wouldn't really matter at the end of the day, but we really should talk about VAC as a whole rather than focusing just on MW2. A poorly made game.

One of the hackers I saw wasn't even logged into Steam at the time of hacking. His IDpage Said he had been offline for a year.
