So far there is no support for the 360 controller but there have been a few requests to the Dev's and i doubt they'll have much trouble adding support for it.

Yes you can. You can download xpadder(free) which will allow you to assign key presses to your xbox sticks and buttons, then remove the in game joystick configuration . just open the joystick key selction box and press delete. for each of the joystick functions that are pre-assigned. Then use the keyboard key selection box to program the action you want to be assigned to each (keypress) assigned to your controller. I had no luck using the in game controller support, but xpadder works perfectly.

After that, can you use keyboard + mouse for on foot and controller for vehicles?

I use motion joy drivers/software which forces my PC to recognize my PS3 controller as an Xbox. It allows for Key Mapping and works fine (could use some slight fine tuning). I'm sure by the time the game rolls around there were be functioning Xbox controller support (hopefully rumble support as well).

yes, the game lets you set separate controls for on foot, vehicles, copters, etc

Thanks for the info. One more question, after installing xpadder, can I easily disable it when I'm playing other games? I play PES2010 with 360 controller already and I don't want to do configuration using xpadder again. Just want it for BFBC2 ;)

Sure. you just don't run it when you play that game... xpadder doesn't normaly start with windows. You need to start it before the game you wish to use it in. To stop it you must right click its icon in the task bar and close it. X doesn't close the program, only minimizes it.

What am I missing? Xpadder is $9 is it not? Xpadder site (http://xpadder.com/)
edit: started reading their forums and it seems that the last free version is 5.3 and can be found on softpedia.com. I think I will buy the latest version and get the updates for free. Lots of features I could use and not just for gaming.
Thanks for posting about Xpadder. Here is a link to some tuts if anyone is interested. Xpadder Tutorials (http://xpadder.com/phpBB3.0.5/viewforum.php?f=4&sid=da36b48b4245b2a39024511d0450b041) Also, in their forums under "Questions before buying" you don't need to register to ask questions. Nice.

I have no interest in Xpadder, but this seems like it would be valuable information to someone who does, so +Rep to you for being a valuable member of this forum, sir. :)

Thanks!!! Now I got xpadder installed and I'm able to figure out how to use my controller as a mouse. However, when I tried to make this thing work in BFBC2 beta ... OMG....
This is very difficult for me. Can anyone please share which keyboard+mouse button to map with which controller buttons? The thing is that without even understanding how keyboard control works for choppers properly, I'm so confused with what to do. I guess the control setup will be different for everyone but any idea shared will be greatly appreciated.
I'm ok with land vehicle controls using keyboard and mouse so only thing needed is UAV & Heli controls. Please help. :eek:
So far I understand that this is how it works.
(a)controller buttons->keyboard+mouse buttons
(b)keyboard+mouse buttons->In game commands
(a)In xpadder, controller buttons need to be matched with keyboard buttons
(b)In bfbc2 beta, those keyboard buttons need to be matched with vehicle commands such as pitch up, increase speed.

tried xpadder 5.3 does not work for me. I got it to run but in game of bfbc2 it did not respond as a keyboard or mouse, would only allow me to adjust joystick settings which I dont think its suppose to think its still a joystick right?

Err...
Not sure why so many people have trouble with the 360 controller, but I have been using it to fly helicopters after I gave up trying to figure out the keyboard controls. Didn't need any 3rd party program either, just remapped a few buttons and I was ready to go.
Before the tracer buff, I loved piloting. I used to keep the controller at the ready on my lap too. But sadly I rarely bother to fly helicopters now, for obvious reasons. :(
