MW2 and "Windows Key"

My "Windows Key" gets disabled when I'm in a MW2 game.
Anyone else experiencing this?

And how can I disable that? I need the "Windows key"

not sure of anyway to disable it from doing that, but you could just alt+tab or alt+esc out of the game when you need to "use the windows key" whatever you use it for

IW decided you shouldn't be allowed to use it. It doesn't work in game or in a lobby.

No idea why they did it though, it's just stupid.

Alt-tab doesn't work either, not tried alt-esc, I just hit my Firefox hotkey to minimise if I need to.

ALT+ESC works.

But I *NEED* the windows key for some other shortcuts I am using for my second screen.

I am getting more and more irritated by IW.
Deciding what I can and can't do with my own stuff...

I have a keyboard where I can disable the Windows Key.
Heck, even windows got settings to disable the damn windows key.

The game SHOULD NOT force it disabled.

I minimise all the time, mainly during the stupidly long 68 second break between games.

I usually have 3-4 games running at once, when I go into "game mode". It really all depends on your computer.

It was probably a feature because most players that I know despise that windows key; they accidentally hit it and minimize.

Fair enough but we should at least have the option to enable it for those that want/need it.

It's my "minimise" button when I'm running games so I miss it in MW2.

How would you play 3-4 games at once? Idk, maybe it's because I have an outdated Dell XPS 1710 and I find that when I alt-tab out of Source games my FPS drops heavily. Doesn't really happen in other games but idk I just get the feeling that my game isn't as optimized when I alt-tab out of it

Play a bit in some single player game while waiting for round start, or take a look at who's online in HoN and jump in a game if some friends is on.. running a BluRay movie on secondary screen.. stuff like that.

I'm sitting on a Core i7 quadcore with 12GB of memory, so it doesn't even notice it.

They actually took steps to create code that DISABLES that.
That's like intentionally disabling your volume keys or even your SHIFT key.

Have nothing to do with it being a port of any kind.

Oh and it used to work. It's something they changed recently... silently.

It is disabled because if a person is hosting and hits alt+tab/windows key it causes the whole game to go to ♥♥♥♥. Ergo, they disabled it to make up for their crappy game design.

They disable it because most people have no idea that when they Alt+Tab out of the game they are hosting to switch iTunes over to the latest Shania Twain CD that the entire game stutters and hangs.

Their poor design choice means that they have to account for the lowest common denominator and not give you a choice.
