View Full Version : Steam Store looks different.

This is probably a bug, but the steam store looks different. (http://img197.imageshack.us/img197/2622/14689944.jpg)

I don't know how to fix this, if anyone does it'll be appreciated :cool:.

(Btw that 'Steam - Update News' doesn't seem to work as well, it's showing "This program cannot display the web page.")

The problem occurs when I go to http://store.steampowered.com/ through firefox as well.

Yeah, I'm having the same problem. Has to be via Steam's end because i aint touched nothing

Loads up perfectly fine for me on my workstation using firefox and on my laptop using firefox.

It looks like for some reason it just didn't finishing loading (I get that type of look of a website if it is getting heavily pounded with a lot of traffic sometimes). Have just tried simply refreshing or restarting firefox?

I'm getting the same problem. Update news not loading, and Steam store not looking like it should. Almost like it can't resolve the address for pics and videos. Windows 7 Professional 64bit for me. Tried the Steam website with Chrome and Firefox and get the same problem. New Zealander here too, seems like a few of us are getting this problem.

It seems the problem at the moment is only really affecting NZ'ers. Dunno why, But its annoying as hell lol

Seriously, I know you don't like Steam and were forced to use it for a game, but creating a forum account and spending your days saying how awful the client is seems a waste of time and resources.

If you don't like what a person posts the thing to do would be to ignore it and not make the problem worse. I don't post very much so just how much time am I wasting and it;s not your's.

There was some DNS changes after the last downtime, it seems they haven't yet gone through to some parts of the world.

Temporary solutions is to go to your network connection properties and force another DNS server (for example Google's DNS, IP addresses: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) then open a command prompt and type 'ipconfig /flushdns'.

Well that explains it.

I'm in NZ myself and have been unable to read update news or acess the store.
Was wondering why it wasn't being posted all over the forums.

That's probably not going to help, the problem is probably a CSS or two not loading properly. Maybe an update to the design? :D

this is so bull****. I try to preorder bioshock 2 and now i cant and its been down for days. Also 3 days ago itwas 45US now its something like 71US according to my friend. Hate it how steam is so expensive sometimes and how they just raise the price of games cause they feel like, scrw steam
