View Full Version : No 1680 x 1050
This is quite standard on 16:10 monitors nowadays most games have this resolution, yet I see a lot of strange resolutions I have never seen before, no 1680x1050 STANDARD resolution for a 22inch monitor

The game supports it (and many others), but the resolution does not display in the configuration utility. Find the file rcfg.xml in a directory like C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Ice-pick Lodge\Void.
You can also go to the game's folder (in Steam\SteamApps\Common) and create empty RCFG.xml inside \Void\data. Config.exe fills this file with settings as soon as you run it.
Then open this file (use Notepad or Programmer's Notepad) and set any resolution you need. I even ran it in 2560*1600 windowed on my 1920*1200 monitor.

Just wanted to mention that this DID work for me to go to 1680x1050, but the first time I started the game it went to a blue screen for some reason. I wish I had written down the error code, but I was frustrated last night and just rebooted. It was definitely video related though.
I went ahead and ran the Config utility again after the blue screen, set everything the way I wanted, including disabling AA (using an ATI 4870 X2, so using that fix), and then re-edited the config file. This next time, it worked just fine.

The thing is that the game officially supports only resolutions which can be divided by 4. Other resolutions (such as 1050 vertical) can cause artifacts in game. But you can set it manually by changing the config file.

Not that anyone have actually seen these artifacts.

They are mentioned in the official readme. So you claim it's a false alarm?

Of course not. If our programmer says that the artifacts may occur, they may occur. Probably. I haven't seen them myself, and haven't heard of one single person who has. The glitches may depend on settings, though. I am not an engine programmer, so I have no idea why the resolution may be required to be a multiple of 4.
