When i run BF:BC and a few other games i get a windows message asking me:
Do you want to change the color scheme to improve performance?
If i click "Keep the current color scheme, and don't show this message again" It just show this message the next time i run the game.
I understand this message pops up b/c windows believes im low of resources, but this is not true. My pc is pretty beasty and runs this game with no problem. My CPU is never over 40% and my ram levels are good.
Is there a way to Disable this message in windows? I couldn't find anything online.

Happens with alot of games, but only in windowed mode.
solution:
Either, run full window-mode or live with it.
I never managed to find a solution, but it really aint such a big deal to me.

It's not limited to windowed mode
run as administrator.
I normally do that but sometimes forget, does that definitely fix it?

Yes, works for City of Heroes, Aion, BF1942, BF2, BF2142 and BC2, most of the other games I have doesn't do it.

honestly, for windowed mode, this game behaves the exact same alt tabbing as it does without, from what i've seen. just last week got a hew HD, so I forgot to put the windowed noborder options in the launch. now, it alt tabs exactly the same, but no color scheme change. dunno, maybe i'm doing it wrong, but it seems to be better without the option

Just in case anyone looks up this topic, as BF3 and Assassin's Creed 3 have this problem for me almost every time despite high FPS.

No solution for this I suppose. I get it also sometimes, usually when alt-tabbing out of the game, it's a windows 7 feature being oversensitive.

To stop this right click on your desktop short cut.
Select properties.
Then select compatibility and tick disable desktop composition.
Every time you start your game up this will change your desktop to basic settings when you stop playing your desktop changes back to what ever settings you use.
This will stop those anoying pop ups when your playing your games.

Go to the Battlefield 3 install directory (C:/Program Files (x86)/Origin Games/Battlefield 3) and on the bf3.exe, right click and under Compatibility tick Disable Visual Themes.
