steam achievements didn't appear

So, after long 25 in game hours, i have finally managed to crack down two foes(turtle and mine enthusiast, both diff 7) , which proved quite resistant, especialy the second half, when AI kept reinforfing heavily, not to mention cross planet attacks, that nearly got me, but thanks to 2 mark2 ion cannons defending my homeworld,i managed to bring AI to it's end :D
Sadly, after such intense battle i got a bit dissapointed, when 8 achievements ( i know it's pretty much for 1 session lol )didn't appear on steam page. NOTE: those achievements are shown in game, but not on steam. I searched the forums and found that there were problems with multiple achievements appearing at once, but in a matter of fact, none was taken to account this time.
Another interesting thing is that when i look in-game hiscores of myself, the sesion i finished recently is considered as 'incomplete'. IS deafeating both AI home stations not enough? :confused:
Oh well, i'm not that type who takes achievements more rather game itself, but anyway, it's nice to know that i've overcome some uneassy obstacles and sth to remind it. SO, I'd like to know what might cause these problems. p.s i have saved it after victory only, and would need to replay the final assault, which would prove bit tricky, but not sure if that would help.

As long as your achievements were logged locally, then the next time you start AI War it will try to resubmit to the Steam servers. What typically happens in these situations is that the Steam achievements notification pops up as you would expect, and then for whatever reason the Steam client is unable to actually pass the data to the Steam servers.

Valve has looked into this, and hasn't come up with anything yet, and users have noted that this issue has also appeared in other Steam games from time to time. Our solution at Arcen so far has been to make sure that every time you load the AI War program, it checks all of your local achievements versus all your Steam achievements, and then resubmits all of the ones that are missing on Steam. Presuming that whatever issue with Steam client communications is resolved at the time of the resubmit, that should thus take care of itself on its own.

Sorry for the trouble there! We're not sure what exactly it is doing, either, but at least our automated workaround should fix the problem for you as you continue to play future sessions of AI War.

Might want to check that you are not in offline mode on Steam, not sure if that is related ever. Usually when this happens, Steam just misses a few achievements, not all of them. If these achievements are already logged in your local achievements list, then fore sure you don't need to reload or replay your games to try to get them on Steam. All you need to do is shut down AI War and restart it, and it will try resubmitting on your behalf. If it can't today for whatever reason, it will keep trying every time you start AI War in the future until it succeeds.

I have found in practice that it re-submits on earning the achievement, or on loading the game where the achie has been earned (for resources etc). This is opposed to when the main menu is loaded (Which is how I read your blurb Chris?).

Sometimes takes a few times when you earn multiple in 1 go (like first win against 2 different AIs), but it does trigger them all eventually :)

It should do it on either, actually. At least I think that change to do it on the main menu was in 3.016, which is the current official version on Steam. Possibly that is only in the post-3.016 betas, which will go official early next week. But I'm 99% sure that it is already there.

It is triggering them all locally the first time, right? If not, that would be really a different issue.

What about achievements earned while playing a campaign using the demo?

I earned 3 achievements while trying the 3 hour campaign before I bought the game but they didn't transfer over to my steam list of achievements, though the in-game achievements list shows them correctly.

They should transfer once you are starting up the game in the full version of the game. There has been some note lately that the steam achievements are not being shown in AI War properly (in our listing), so it may be that there was some change to the Steamworks API since October. But it doesn't seem to affect all customers, which is particularly curious This is something we're investigating, and any achievements that are locally earned would definitely belatedly transfer to Steam once that is figured out. In a lot of cases I think it may just be network/Steam latency at the specific time of the game starting, such that the achievements don't make it up until a few game starts later. If you (or anyone else) has information about your experiences on that score, for good or for ill, that might help us figure out what the root issue is. Thanks!

I have a big problem with the achievments at steam !

I made a few achievments while trying to get the Holliday achievment in which I have to lose 30k ships !

There are 6 achievments I triggered and in game the achievmentlist says that the information was send to steam and also when i look in my game libray at steam I see 6 achievments unlocked but when I go into the whole achievmentlist there are no achievments unlocked:confused: !

I made some screenshots but I cant put pictures in this post !

A quick solution would be nice !

That sounds like the Steam servers are overburdened, to be honest. If you're seeing it properly in-game and on the steam servers, but not seeing it in certain views on the steam site, then I'd just give it time and it will probably resolve itself.

I have to say that my problem is still not solved.
I don´t know what I else can do.

Reinstalled the game several times, started the game several times, started steam several times and also reinstalled steam several times but nothing is working.

What else can I do ?

It is an annoying Bug I have to say !

This is also happening to me! Not sure what's going on here, but there definitely seems to be a problem with the achievement lists for this game... and this game alone.

If the steam servers have the data, but part of the steam site isn't showing updated info, then that's something internal to steam's servers. You might want to send them a note on one of their general the support forums, but I can't imagine why this problem would be limited to any specific game.

One question comes to mind, though: are you seeing an achievement that says "Losses: We Can Absorb This" in the list? That name and the Cold, Dark, Night one are actually identical. So it might be that the name and icon didn't push across, but the completion status did. That's all I can really think of. Beyond that, it's some sort of internal steam issue.

I have the We Can Absorb This in the game, but it doesn't show on the Steam achievement list, because actually nothing does.

Its the same for me. I have that achievment and I can see it InGame. Also the List InGame says that it is send to steam.
In my Library I see than that I have unlocked 6 Achievments but whem I switch to the total Achievment List I don´t see any of that achievments.
Thats the Reason why it is so weird to me !

I have this issue, too. Steam Library page of "AI War: Fleet Command" says "You have unlocked 5/234 (2%)", but the community area (blotter, personal stats, ...) shows "0/0 achievements". C'mon, I want my piece of coal. ;-)

Bump for same issue, fix given to me by support did not work, that was deleting everything from my steam folder sans the steamapps folder and the steam.exe file. The game itself still lists the achievements as completed but steam itself only list 4 of the 13, the 4 I obtained when I first got the game a year ago.

Worked for me now. I just let the game running for a while and then somehow the achievements were updated. Strange issue.... :-|

Same issue here. Letting the game run for AGES didn't fix it either.

I let the game run in-game and on fast-forward speed. And I think I got another (single!) achievement in the process, so this could also have triggered the update of the achievement list on steam.

Sorry about that! In the most recent version I missed on key bit of the Steam integration for achievements. More folks reported that here: http://www.arcengames.com/forums/index.php/topic,11829.0.html

It should now be fixed.
