Indeed, such an overrated and easily forgettable piece of s...software. Seeing this game in top sellers saddens me. I always thought PC gamers had higher standards.

I can. (http://store.steampowered.com/app/10180/)ROFL! Yep, the number one played game on steam is the crappiest game in history (next to WoW and any other MMORPG). Pity that 102,000+ players disagree with you. (They are all idiots if you ask me).

If you want a crappy game, try this little gem (http://store.steampowered.com/app/21950/).

I would point you to Secret of the Magic Crystal (http://store.steampowered.com/app/45100/), but as the few grown men who will actually admit to have played it will testify, it is strangely addictive, despite being completely repetitive, lacking anything resembling actual gameplay and seemingly having no real objective.....

Modern Warfare 2 is over-hyped, not overrated. It's a fantastic game. I don't see what you guys have against it.

You can if someone sends you a free gift, you accept it, and then the buyer cancels the payment. You could lose your whole account that way.

I can't see where getting a Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 game for free is a bad thing, except for what I previously mentioned.

I seriously doubt I'd play it much, but free is free.

Not that I expect or want anyone to gift it to me, I don't want the game.

You apparently misunderstood the intention of my post.

I was referring mostly to your last sentence "I always thought PC gamers had higher standards". My reasoning and inference was thus;

If you visited the Steam stats page more often/at all you would know that they, do not, in fact possess particularity high standards or good taste.

Perhaps, I should have made myself more clear. I used to think that the majority of PC gamers had high standards. The success of MW2 on PC has 'enlightened' me so to speak.

Ah so we do agree. Well I'm to down half a bottle of scotch as my cynical outlook has once again made me despair for the future of PC entertainment. (as well as the human race in general)

Fantastic game if you're a casual FPS noob incapable of playing an FPS that requires something from the user to succeed.

It's the Woman's underhand slow pitch of the FPS genre.

$60, no dedicated servers and stuff.

I just hate the $60 part. Why should we have it for the same price as consoles when every other game is cheaper? That's my only thing really...

Right well ignoring the MW2 bonfire, how about some of these games for your friend? Farm Frenzy (http://store.steampowered.com/sub/2988/), Toki Tori (http://store.steampowered.com/app/38700/), Are you Smarter than a 5th Grader? (http://store.steampowered.com/app/12550/) or the smash hit Dr.Daisy Pet Vet (http://store.steampowered.com/app/12580/)?

Sure, it's expensive, but it's only $10 more than all the other new games out there. Left 4 Dead 2 is $50, I don't see anybody crying about that price. Mass Effect 2 is $50, people buy that, Bioshock 2: $50.

It's only $10 more, I don't really see much of a difference.

Just so you know, I do not support the expensive prices, I am totally against them. Most expensive game I have ever bought was $50 (I got the THQ pack the other night, complete Steal for me. Hell, steal, more like armed robbery xD), but if you're against the price, don't buy it. Simple as that

Yeah, it is a really good puzzle game. I've dropped around 14 hours into, devs update it a lot too and have already added like 3 new levels since it came out on Steam.

$60 games belong on consoles. The (lack of) features of MW2 for the PC do not justify a $10 increase. They only did it because they knew people would buy it from the hype.

we were taken advantage of.

How are people taken advantage of when they choose to pay too much for a non necessity?

You don't need a video game to live, you need food, clothing, and shelter, but we're talking about video games here...you don't need them.

Look, I like video games, but if I think a game is overpriced, I don't buy it...

And you, sir, are the reason they charged that much. PC games have been $50 since I can REMEMBER. The last time I saw a $60 PC game was a COLLECTOR EDITION.

I refuse to pay console price for a PC game. Sorry, but that's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Those games being $50 is NOT a big deal because that's the ♥♥♥♥ing standard for PC games. I also didn't buy L4D2 for $50 and RARELY buy games for $50.

I understand what you're coming from, and to be honest:

Activision probably would've sold 2x as many CODMW2 copies if they reduced to price to $40.

Why wouldn't they just revolk your license for the gifted game? How can someone cancel payment when it has to clear before it is available to download anyway?

they do. they don't cancel your account just because the gift you received isn't payed for anymore, they just revoke your license of the game and you can neither play nor download it unless it's payed for.
