A beta has been posted on the spectromancer website for the upcoming expansion.
Three new classes were added: Sorcerer, Demonologist and Beastmaster.
Players now are able to setup their Random class, it can be done in options window. (for example it is possible to choose "any class except Illusionist").
League of Heroes was added to singleplayer mode.
Arena room was added to online league. There will be special rules for duels in this room and these rules will be changed each week.
Save replay feature was added.

I would only be interested in this expansion if STEAM releases it as an official product in their store :(

It went final a few days ago, the author is also busy building a new steam package for the expansion.

I would like this with Steam. Also the latest version. I believe that the version from steam is different then when you buy from steam.

He said he was building a package in the forums. but this was 2 march, i've seen no update on the matter since.
On the spectromancer forums it'll probably be announced sometime soon.

You can download the League of Heroes version off the Spectromancer website (http://www.spectromancer.com/index.cgi?p=3). Then use your Steam CD key with the downloaded League of Heroes version: you can get the CD key by right clicking on Spectromancer in your Steam library and select "View CD game key." Enter the CD key by clicking the button at the very top of the title screen.
That will allow you to play this version of the game, which will give you access to some new features not available in the original game version, but without the expansion content such as the 3 new wizard types (are the 3 new wizard types the only new content?)
You can purchase the expansion by click on the "Unlock the expansion!" button at the top of the screen. It costs $10 =/

From the author concercing Steam Update on 3-may-2010:
It's very sad, but we don't have any possibilities to enforce Steam. Steam got everything month ago, and when you ask when they release the expansion -all I can do is to ask them and then post the answer.

Given the fact that this expansion was released more than a couple months ago and the developer's statement that Steam has been provided everything they need, it's inexcusable that Steam still hasn't offered it for sale.
