I stole some old parts out my old retired PC and I don't know what to do with them. These are the parts I took out of it:

1. Intel Pentium 4 2GHz SL6GQ 130nmn socket 478
2. 30GB Western Digital EIDE hard drive
3. Some 8 year old Floppy Drive
4. An AMD PC-Net based network card PCI

What I have already put back to use:

1. nVidia Geforce 2 MX 400 64MB SRAM AGP(Installed into an old Dell)
2. PCI Firewire card(put into new PC)

What should I do with the above parts? Only thing I can see as a use for a floppy would be installing RAID drivers for XP, but I use windows 7. What should I do with these parts?

Put together a PC for use as a dedicated server, or sell it.

I somehow don't think this single core Pentium 4 could host anything but a goldsrc dedicated server. I was able ot play Simcity 4 on it decently, but that game is old.

I think it could host a 16 player CSS or DODs just fine.

Sometimes, a little project like this keeps the blood pumping.:D I, too, scrounged up some spare parts for a surfing build - AXP2800+ with Abit NF-7, or AXP2200 + Asus board (for the life of me, I can't recall the model number), 40GB IDE HDD, a couple of optical drives, 512MB DDR RAM, 9500Pro and Audigy soundcard....and a couple of crappy PSU (for these parts, I don't really care). Haven't quite gotten 'round to building a rig from these as I'm usually exhausted after work.

You could definitely use that to host a game server for TF2 or something.

Only problem is, I am using the video card that I pulled out and there is no onboard to run it. Best it has is AGP 4x. I would need a clean reinstall of Windows and I lost the disc and the license key. Plus 2 pins on the CPU are bent...(I can probably fix them)
