This is my 1st error.

I tried the scan hardware and I get this:

OS- fail Windows9X v6.1 build 7600 (I'm running Win 7 64bit)
Video- warning RDPDD chained DD 4096MB(I have a HD5870 radeon drivers up to date)
OpenGL- Failed Microsoft Corporation -1.1.0 (if this is video drivers they are up to date)

If my drivers are not up to date then I don't know how to get them up to date. I went to the site and downloaded the latest drivers.

If anyone can help me please do. I have the same Error when trying to start Mount&Blade. I have put a ticket in for that.

nope, not for me...

found another interesting thread about that problem with an interesting and puzzling solution. unfortunately not for the steam-version-exe, but take a look:

Actually that fix would apply to the Steam version just the same. It's not changing anything about the game, it swapping out the OpenGL runtime library from the video card drivers for an older set because ATI must have broken some older OpenGL compatibility in their newer drivers. Certainly worth a try.

no, read on... its later about packing the exe with a programm called UPX, and that seems to work, too. but obviously not for the steam-exe!

I finished downloading the game last night. I have Windows 7/64. After the download the game started right up! no problems all game settings at maximum. No changes to any computer settings. I have a laptop I checked and my monitor settings are at 60Hz. The laptop is new the link for the model information is listed here. I know its not much but its all I could afford!.http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?Sku=T78-18412Specifications

Like I posted in the other thread, if you are running a ATI card try upgrading to cat 10.3 (link in the other thread). ATI seems to have resolved the issue alot of ppl were having. Worked for me anyways -i tried all those other possibilities first and none of them worked.
