List of BFBC2 Problems/Bugs/Issues

So after a whole day downloading, the game is finally installed.
However i have several problems with this game that i did not have with the beta.

1) After playing for a few minutes i get kicked for no reason, with an error message that says you have been kicked from the game. This happens on all servers. Even though the punkbuster initial install said everything was fine, I have gone ahead and run the pbsetup from evenbalance server, and I pointed it to the game install on the steamapps\common\battlefield bad company 2 folder and added BFBC2 and it did its scans and it seems to have updated something and that was it.
This did not help as i continue to get kicked after only a couple of minutes. So basically i cannot play this game for more then a few minutes.

2) Controls seem to be missing or are screwed up somehow.
I cannot seem to drop ammo crates, or medic packs, pretty much nothing but rifle or handgun or nade works. Also in the first few seconds when i start a round , i start with a primed nade in my hand waiting for me to throw it.

3)Like everyone else i should have the "Limited Edition" which is all that steam sells, However none of my limited edition weapons are currently unlocked, such as the Thompson, M1911, Tracer dart, Improved Vehicle Armor, Vehicle motion sensor or armor. Basically none of the limited edition unlocks, are unlocked. I put in my CD'keys correctly, and it acknowledged that both keys were fine.

4) My battlefield veteran status (rank3) was not recognized, and thus i don't have the old Garand weapon, and i don't see my veteran status in the scoreboard. This worked fine in beta, and even works fine on my Playstation 3, in fact first thing that pops up on PS3 was a message indicating veteran status and how i now have the Garand gun. However veteran rank is not working here on the final PC game. I am using the same account i used during PC beta which worked fine before.

5) strangely enough all my dog-tags from the PC beta are still showing up in my stats, even though everything else was reset to zero. The reset to zero for stats was expected, however retaining beta dog-tags, that is quite strange.

If anyone knows how to fix any of the issues above please let me know.
As i doubt my support ticket will be addressed anytime soon, so i appreciate any help that the steam community can give.

Uh.... no.

But certainly, it appears many are having issues with punkbuster and EA's authentication capacities.

Sad, I cannot relate to the problems. No problems to report here, except a few crashes after long sessions. Wish that hadn't happened.

I have noticed that a few other people have some of the same issues.
Unfortunately i haven't found a working answer to any of the above questions.

I am also unaware if anyone else also has all the same bugs at once like i do.
Quite disappointing really.

Hopefully sometime this month Valve will answer my ticket on these issues.

Please optimize the freakin game with nvidia for windowsxp or whatever the problem might be coming from; running at 80fps and the second theres smoke close to my face it drops to 30 fps sometimes 12 fps on EVERYTHING on low, hell even bloom is off. AND NO AA either WTF?

#2 Enable AA for directx9/win xp. That's ridiculous that you say it cannot be done and will not be done. EVERY other game out there can be done and has been done with AA even on xp. At least let freakin nvidia override the damn settings..

I'm having an issue with the game freezing when I exit. If I open up the task manager while it's frozen, the window for the game closes, but the process stays alive until I kill it.

I tried to play beta on dx9 on windows xp and on dx10 on windows vista. The difference in performance is huge.
So if you can, play it on dx10.

I have gone ahead and taken a screen shot of the pbsetup app showing all the versions of PB on my system.
Pb setup was run as an administrator within my vista 64bit OS.

When i select "Check for updates" it says that everything is fine.
Maybe someone who has their system working without getting kicked can check if they have the same client and server versions installed?

FIX FOR LIMITED EDITION UNLOCKS:
This is in a few other thread with most saying it works (I can't try, still downloadin).

1) Right click on BC2 in the "Games" list of your steam page and select "View game CD Key", and copy the "Promo code" and type it in the redeem code section of the multiplayer menu.
2) Go into a MP *RANKED* game, kill a guy or two and finish the round or disconnect. Unlocks should be done.

That's the catch apparently, you need to hook up to a ranked game. That is IF you can actually get into a game the first day. Someone feel free to confirm. Good luck!

if you dont have code and you paid for limited edition call customer support. If you didn't pay for the limited edition then don't wonder. You have to unlock it as the levels come.

I played a medic until I got the med kit unlocked. At which point I was shown a 40mm nade launcher as my gadget and really had nothing for 2 matches. Then my medic kit did finally show up, but all my achievement menus were borked - they did not show any graphics of what I was working towards and showed nothing for experience.

Anyhow, if I had to guess, I would wager that the lag in transactions on the server keeping track of rank and unlocks is the cause for all of this. Could be wrong, but maybe not.

BTW, I had to stay up pretty late to get a game going... During prime-time I was getting DCs all the time, no list of servers, etc.

Finally, I cannot confirm this, but it seemed like to me that if you dared to cancel a server listing, all subsequent server listings would give you the unable to connect error message. So do not cancel and just wait to apply your filters and then rescan.

It's ridiculous that you haven't upgraded your operating system but run an i7. It's ridiculous that you expect them to bend over backwards for DX9 when the Frostbite 1.5 engine was made with DX10+ in mind because that is the current baseline and will remain the current baseline in the near future..

XP is going out the window, there is no excuse at this point if you're still actively buying games to NOT have DX10 or higher compatible hardware. XP isn't as secure as the latest offerings, if you believe otherwise you don't know crap about residential computing.

Has multiple explanations about manual punk buster installs (and specifics in choosing the right path). Of course, that isn't working for everyone but I'm watching the thread for updates.

There appears to be a bug with the in-game voice. It's pretty much hit and miss as far as whether or not it wants to work. It varies from server to server, round to round, person to person. Sometimes I can get it to work and my teammates... that are already on Vent... can sometimes hear me in-game.

Sometimes I can hear the other players talking, but I can't hear who they are talking to.

This was present in Beta, too, so maybe it's a known issue that they're working on. I hope so. I use in-game voice a lot in other games, and on gamemodes like conquest it's extremely essential in putting together an offensive or regrouping at a straggling point.

I really wish they would make the server browser asynchronous so that we could interact with it while it was refreshing. They also need to fix the lack of a ping/latency display in-game and fix the one in the server browser.

Hey a*shole, I prolly know more about computer hardware than your family tree ever will. I'm running XP because I like it and up until NOW every other game out there has been more than fine and I never had a problem or had a reason to switch to Windows 7. And if YOU believe that doesn't make sense then you are clearly unable to accept someone else's opinion. Which in theory, makes you an a*shole.

Also, if you don't think that a lot of GAMERS still use windows xp sp3 then YOU obviously don't know crap about gaming rigs either.

Screw XP, it's an archaic OS dating from nearly ten years ago. You might as well demand that your PS2 be able to play PS3 games. No one has to keep supporting XP.

It should be noted that DX11 is already out with Win7, and Win7 has a higher adoption rate than Vista, so it's more than likely that DX11 is going to be the new DX9 for this generation.

Yeah man I know. But put yourself in my shoes. Never had a problem with xp every game runs fine, therefore never had a reason to pay 250$ to get windows7 if i dont benefit from anything. Until now of course. I guess this is the game that will actually give me a valid reason to pay for w7.

#2 My knife doesn't work - has the animation, the sound but doesn't actually kill - it however does still break fences.

#3 Random abilities stop working such as sprinting, aiming down the sights etc, have no idea why
