Did anyone manage to beat the part where three helicopters assault you all at once while your squad mates do literally nothing on hard?

I'm up to 50+ tries now...

I had to try it several times on Normal but i beat it after using both TOW's and Carl Gustav missiles.

took me like 15 tries on normal. the attempt i got it, i found a little wall where i could duck and avoid the rockets.

I went to a lower area, it took me about 12 tries on Advanced. The trick is to wait until they try and pass over head, or move down to your level.

That mission is next to impossible on hard. You pretty much have to get lucky hits with the rockets or you're screwed. I finally beat it on hard after 10+ tries.

Yea it was very, very hard for me, I did play on the hard difficulty though, took me a ♥♥♥♥load of tries and the only reason I did eventually finish it was because one of the choppers crashed into the mountain side so I only had to destroy 2.

Your best bet is to use the Carl Gustav, and try and hide around the part where you pickup the LMG with acog, wait till it's above you and fire fast, thats all I can say lol.

That mission is a real challenge. Took me about 45 mins on hard to complete it, god it was annoying.

Yeah, vehicles do seem to focus on the player too much. And with the helis, its hard to find proper cover that lasts more then 10 seconds.
Took so many tries to get through that.

The AI just idle at times, doing nothing until you have killed all enemies or gone so far ahead they teleport to you.

That level made me watch RAMBO 3 again xD wish DICE made the Mi-24 full armed instead of Mi-28.

Try playing on something other than easy, It was a very hard level, stupidly difficult.

How did you only come up against 2 heli's ? there was 3 for me, and they all took 2 shots each.

I got it on the first try, I was on normal though.

On medium, I learned that so long as you stay in the missile emplacement you will live, even though you are getting pelted constantly. It doesn't make sense, since you are a sitting duck, but the first time I tried it I was able to shoot down all three choppers (two missiles each) and live.

Dumbest part is that as soon as you kill the choppers all of the other baddies disappear.

I completed the game on hard, and did not think it was that challenging.

Try playing CoD4 on the hardest difficulty. Now THAT, was hard.

Of course it's not challenging when you just stand in the AT emplacement, but some of us didn't use that glitched method.

yea i agree with cyrusk. stay in the TOW on normal...didnt notice that all people vanished must've been too relieved that choppers were gone.

Did this on hard 1st try. Just sat in the TOW and killed them. Whats the problem?

Tried 10-15 times, ragequit til the morning, when I tried again, did it first time. On hard, I found the only way I could really do it was rush with the TOWs from the start, before the helis start flying overhead out of TOW range.

Maybe it was just me, but I found the helis still did a LOT of damage to me when I was sat on the emplacements

I've just put in about an hour and 45 minutes on NORMAL and still can't kill those helicopters.
What are the emplacements I hear people talking about? I start running around as soon as I hear the helicopters and don't have time to take in the scenery.
I've only used that unguided rocket launcher on the ground that I've been picking up. (TOW maybe???)
Anyway, I'm about one hour of attempts away from giving up on this game completely.
I wish I could be good enough to finish it in one try on normal like some guys are saying. (although I wonder why they bother posting about it without adding any tips)
I can usually take out the first copter while it holds still to drop off enemy soldiers. Then I'm either taken out by the enemy soldiers or the remaining copter while I run around like an idiot trying to aim at it.
This is a lot tougher for me than most FINAL boss fights in other games.

your squad mates do stuff at other times?

Mine don't, they just shoot in the general direction of enemies but can't manage to kill any of them...it's like they're programmed to LOOK like they're fighting but don't actually accomplish anything.

Took like three or four tries on Hard. I eventually ended up using the M2 Carl Gustav and TOW launcher as fast as possible to take them down.

Ok, I found the emplacements you guys had mentioned. They actually seem to track targets a little bit.
I was able to bring down one (as usual when it hovers dropping off enemies) and got a shot in on a second helicopter.
That's the best I could pull off in twenty more minutes of playing this frustrating level.
I'm going to make myself try it a few more times though before I call it quits. It's just not fun at this point.

my hardest part of sangre de toro was the centre objective where 2 heli drops so many soldier with rpg/gl.... no cover and too much explosion :D

Well, now I know it's not that hard when you know what to do ;) hiPeanut is right. Forget about MI heli, get the TOW as fast as you can and get the havocs down before they fly above you.

I beat it on the first try on the middle difficulty setting. Apparently it was pure luck, because only 2 choppers showed up, and I didn't even know they were coming. When I got to the upper section I saw the TOW launcher and said 'hey cool', hopped on it and looked for something to blow up. The choppers appeared right after that.

Pure luck, but I think the trick is to use the TOW launcher. The missiles will track in on where your crosshairs are, so you can guide the missile into the chopper. Much easier than the Gustav.

Is that the part where you're just with 1 other guy of your squad in a place that looks like a castle?. If so, the way I beat it on hard, was taking down the very first one that comes out with the TOW and after the you can take the rest more easy from the TOW. I think the first one is the more lethal.

I don't think I ever fought 3 of them at once... I fought 2, on the first place I went to (the second didn't show up until I killed the first). The second place, I only fought 1... I think, and the last place I only fought 1, (again, the second didn't show up until I killed the first).

And this was on Hard. Maybe my memory's going though. I dunno.

Ok. I finally beat those helicopters. Just to save someone future anguish the trick for me was the rocket launcher emplacement on the second level. Meaning, not the one where you are standing when the choppers first appear, but behind you a little bit and on a higher level. I hope this makes sense.

Hrmmm ... I was actually enjoying playing this game until this part. Still haven't managed to get past it.
