View Full Version : Very inaccurate server info in BC2?

I seem to be having this issue where the ping readings and server settings I get before, and while joining a server, are completely inaccurate to what I find once I get in.

Servers showing up in the browser as pings of 15, 16, or 32 wind up being closer to 300 once I get into the server. And not just for me, ALL of the players there will have high ping.

Sometimes, the information about what kind of settings the server has (such as friendly fire setting) will also be inaccurate. I joined a server that showed FF being set to 0, only to have a horrific moment in which I gunned down two of my own teammates from a tank MG and lost a large amount of rank points (okay, so it was like... a kill's worth. Losing ANY is pretty scary, though).

Am I the only one having these issues, or is this a widespread problem with the game? It's really bugging me that I might as well just be joining a completely random server ever time.

P.S. Toggling the box for "punkbuster" while filtering out servers seems to bring up only the servers with punkbuster disabled. That seems... counter-intuitive. Could that be changed to say "No punkbuster" or somesuch, or reversed so that checking it will only bring up servers with it ACTIVE, to prevent further confusion?

I wasn't even sure if that was my ping or not at first because all I see is "mp_kills_blob o' text Score" Why isn't ping on the far right like in most games? Why are the column labels all screwed up? Why doesn't it say what class each person is? Why is there a scroll bar when there's a bunch of people on one team, but I can't use my mouse to scroll because it's still used for looking around ingame despite the fact that there's a big scoreboard in my face blocking my view?
