To their credit, occasionally; and only on rare occasion, you can find a "good" orange map which you can tell the author put some serious effort into in either construction or playtesting. However, about 98% of all orange maps are so simple they look like and often are a 14 year-old's first map, and are variations on the orange_arena 5 flag linear theme.

If anyone can make a "good" orange map with solid gameplay, good on them. Otherwise, they can expect to be flamed

i have played maybe one good orange map, and it was fairly fun. however, even a poorly executed texture job would have made the map alot better. The orange makes it impossible to be tactical about approaching an enemy, so it turns into a huge meat grinder. I think someone did a remake of orange_arena with real textures and architecture and it pretty fun to play.

dod_normandie_fight_arena, look that up, it's orange_arena textured and it's very fun to play with no more than 12 people.

Not a bad idea actually PyROZen, find the best of Orange maps in the category of gameplay, and some do have good gameplay, grab the author, ask to remake.

Dev is short for "developer".

Use those textures for focusing on gameplay development, not as a final product. They are intended for development.

I was thinking of doing that also, but too many orange maps suck to sort through them all and a lot of em are just a rehash of the original orange map that normandie became.
