So I actually tried playing assault seriously for the first time. Man it was fun! I think I've found "my" class. :D

Not to mention getting 3x Melee Efficiency Pins in one match was fun!

What class fits you best?

Assault all the way. If you like CQC, you'll like this loadout:
FA2000 + 40m UB Shotgun + lighweight + marksman + the handgun of your choice.

And a piece of advice, if you haven't already done that: input a key to quickswitch to your handgun, it's a life saver.

Engineer for the win. Highly versatile class.

Medic for me.

Type 88 + Tracer Gun + Rapid Med Pack + Defib

The two side buttons on my mouse are for quick switch to Med Packs and Defib.

Engi most of the time. SCAR or the pump shotty. With tracer darts, RPGs the perk to have more explosve ammo and either the smg marksmen or shoty upgrade depening on what I'm useing. I looove being anti tank

sometimes il play recon with C4 and the auto shoty or tomson

Engineer for me. The Gustav rocks for getting those stationary recons to move their feet.

Plus I'm a big fan of strategically placed AT-mines. It's so satisfying to get some kills for some mines you laid 6 minutes ago and entirely forgot about them.

Assault(I'm quite a offensive player, and i love to improvise and getting rewarded for that.)
But i cant stand the F2000 for some reason. ;) (although have the 4th wp. unlock i mostly still play with the xm8.

Engineer
Even it's basic smg is quite accurate on great distances, and most of the time if i get killed as assault by a heavy vehicle there is nowhere a engie to take the tank out, so...

By far Engineer. I am an AT mine ♥♥♥♥♥. I get the extra explosive ammo and lay down 6 of these puppies while falling back and watch the fireworks. kekeke....

My class is medic but recently I have left the LMG's alone and started using the semi auto shotgun (saiga?) I found I usually got killed up close by either an engie or assault class and the LMG's are not so good in CQB. It surprises the hell out of them when you pump them full of buckshot ;)

Also if you keep dropping the medipack in the middle of a fire fight it really helps your team out (extra mouse buttons FTW!) and the points soon mount up.

Hmm. Haven't used those very much yet. Six minutes ago you say? Do they stay there after you die? I'm thinking no, since with enough deaths you could probably cover a sizable portion of the map with them. And, after placing all of them, can you replenish your supply with an ammo box?

they do stay, and there is a limit to how many you can lay before they start disappearing.

Medic, and no, not because I am a noob who loves spraying gunfire around. I've always played the medic role, since BF1942. I genuinely enjoy being the squad medic, saving lives, taking lives. Keeping my squad safe and healthy. Since I only have one good friend who plays, he is assault, I am medic, and we dominate the conquest maps. We have more difficulty in Rush, cause you really need several tight squads if you want to win those maps.

Assault by far. It actually requiers some experience with guns in order to kill a person. Not spray and pray.

Yes, I'm very serious.

80% Engi 20% Recon because sometimes Recon with C4 is way more effectiv against an massive amount off tanks.

Thanks for the fun thread, that's a change.

I don't really have a favorite class but I play mostly medic and engineer because it often seems like that's what the team needs. When I can, I use the recon or assault class.

The assault would be my least favorite, I just suck at that style of play. It seems I can't stay stationnary for long (to wait for ammo refill) or I'll broadcast my position to everyone ... I must suck really bad at getting cover.

My favorite is the medic, I always was a sucker for LMGs. It's funny to see people complain about being able to kill at long range with LMGs and seem to think that's unique to BFBC2 ... but I been doing it in every FPS I played from CS to BFBC2 (except maybe in CS, I don't remember using LMGs much in CS). Also, I tend to be easily traceable by the trail of medkits I leave behind me.

With the engineer, I like a mix of mines and launchers. I really like the fact that I can lay down mines the first 2-3 times I spawn, then change AT mines with rocket launcher and the mines I laid out disappeared. Damn, they even stay there if I change class ! I don't remember it being like that in any other games but BF. As someone pointed out, it's very fun to forget about the mines you laid out and get a couple kills. Getting a full APC with your mines while your capturing a flag on the opposite side of the map is one of the memories I'll keep when I'm done playing this game, I'm sure.

Assault most of the time, although engineer and recon (with a thompson and some c4) are both very versatile. I haven't gotten into the medic much yet, but I've been mowed down by the M60 enough to know that I want one.

Recon.

GOL + M1911 + C4 + Extra C4 + Ceramic Armour + Random Vehicle perk

Good at both long range, and can hold its own at close range. Extra C4 is good for removing vehicles.

Yeah, mines are not time dependent. They will stay there until the end of the round if they're not detonated (or you exceed the maximum allowed). I believe the maximum is 6 mines. Once you lay the 7th mine, I think your first one disappears. As someone else said, it's awesome to lay 6 mines early in the match at key choke points, and then switch to rockets unti the mines are detonated (aka creating tank shrapnel).

I think engineer is probably the most underappreciated / overlooked class. A couple of good engineers on the team using the extra explosives perk can litterally create an impenetrable anti-vehicle mine field near flags and M-comms, and then protect against armor from a distance by switching back to RPG's in combination with the tracer dart. Very critical and effective for defense.

Assault and recon for me.

Usually running around with either the GOL sniper, and, well, I can actually use it too, + mortar spam on destroyable objectives.

Assault for me is either the aug + RDS or the autoshotty with slugs (1 shot kill in the head) + you get C4. Wish I could get rid of the tube on my rifle for C4 at times.

I try to use the engineer class, but I just hate the SMG's and you cant use C4 =/

I hate medics. No wonder they gave them LMG's, otherwise no1 would bother. Only play it to attempt to get a defib kill.

I played assault first, unlock most of the guns, then moving on to other classes. I personally like engineer, the way that you working with an AT team clean out house after house with my awesome scar and popping tank after tank is great.

but if my team is not organized i will turn back to assault. with tube in fact.

My class is CQB Recon
Saiga+M93R,Extra C4,Shotgun perk.
Something about shottie+motion sensor makes me grin and killin tanks is dirty business.
also gotta love sneaking to enemy base and planting c4 on the chopper just to pop its top when they fly away.
