Having trouble with in-game mic

Anyone else have trouble talking in-game? My mic works fine on vent and other steam games (CS:S), but wont work for MW2.

When I press my mic button (Z) it lights up but nobody can hear me. Anyone have a solution to this?

Same. Well, mine won't even work in audacity. I checked my recording settings and I have the right mic selected and i turn the record volume up, still nothing.

make sure sterooooooo mix is off (for some it causes mic's to be muted)

click on ur sound icon, and select recording options

if you see stereo mix as on, disable it and see what happens

although for some, stereo mix fixes some sound issues in game so you're call

In order to get my mic to work I have to make it default choice in the recoding options.. control panel/sound/recording tab.

Just a guess but are u running an Audigy sound card, if so could be the problem. Mine was doing the same and I had to install my on board audio to get it to work.
