They're making a 3 I am sure, the sales of this on PC just decide if we get the third one on our platform or not.
And MAN, I really hope we do.

I'm having the same experience, the DRM is flawless (for me at least), it just works.

Assassin's Creed 3 will come out this year, is set in Rome and continues Ezio's saga. It will have multiplayer. That's what's been made official at this time

AC3 is actually going to be released THIS year? If so... awesome! :D
Hopefully on ALL platforms at once this time though. That would be preferable for all of us. Waiting four months while console gamers got to enjoy it for all that time was quite ridiculous if you ask me.
Now as for Assassin's Creed 2, yes it's a great game and absolutely amazing in stereoscopic 3D as well (can't do THAT on your consoles :p) especially in the more populated areas. I also like the way Ezio handles in combat. There is more variety at your disposal. I'm not too far in the game though because I am having fun just goofing around with the pickpocketing, treasure hunting, and chasing those wise guys that will give you LOTS of gold should you catch and assassinate them.

Yes the extra 4 month wait was annoying, but it definitely wasn't something i even considered when purchasing it. Though for alot of people here it seems to be a top reason why they are boycotting it.
I played the console version and the GFX was nowhere as good as they are on the PC. I can actually say that AC2 has one of the BEST DX9 graphics i have seen in any PC game.
I too love the combat. With each weapon he uses, it also presents different combat styles. Depending on how you want to play him, you can decide which weapon will best suit you. I have not tried using my 360 controller yet, because i primarily love my keyboard + mouse unless it's a racing game, but i may try it out in the future.

I didn't actually factor it in at all. I had just wished we'd have gotten it at the same time. Then again, with this new DRM around, maybe the release will be quicker as Ubisoft is bound to have more experience coupling the game with their (now tested) DRM scheme. I assuming this was the main cause for the delay before.

I often FORGET I'm playing a DX9 game to be honest. It easily looks as good as (if not better than) the first game which was DX10. Then again, iz3D doesn't support DX10 yet so it matters little to me at the moment and going into stereoscopic 3D makes games look MUCH better than it normally is. For example, Vice City ended up looking like a current gen game.

Do try both so you can at least pick what best suits your preferences. As I said, in my case I need to sit back to fully enjoy the 3D effects so a controller is definitely preferable. It seems that analog movement it used a lot in this game as well which you can't do on a keyboard very well.
Now as for multiplayer in Assassin's Creed 3, that'll be interesting. I imagine it'll be multiple assassin's on the same map trying to kill eachother using the same methods as found in the game. That could make for some epic sword fights (since you're against human players and not predictable NPC's who stand back and only let one person attack you at a time).

Now that you've mentioned it, that would be epic!
Perhaps another game mode could be a race to assassinate the target? I am extremely excited to see what they have thought up for multiplayer.
One direction could definitely be "choose your game mode, and we will match up other users automatically", but i REALLY hope they allow you go make a lobby, select your game mode, then all players just fight it out in a battle royale.

Are you sure that AC3 will take place in rome again? I heard some rumors some months ago that it will take place in World War 2 and it will be a action stealth game with a female protagonist something like Velvet Assasin. is it true?

Yeah I'm sure. The WWII thing was once again a journalist spinning a lighthearted comment into a story to boost his page views.

Sweet as. I can't imagine how a WWII RPG would even work... i don't think any of them even exist... for good reason i think :P

that would kinda wreck the whole stealth idea because you could just shoot everyone with silenced sniper rifle :P

Well yea, since after the 1800's they have guns, so it wouldn't be possible to play a ninja assassin when it's basically gonna turn into an FPS.

Not to mention that the market is already overly saturated with WWII themed games. There REALLY doesn't need to be another one.

Because major third party titles NEVER skip the PC due to lack of audience, right? Right?
Oh wait, they do all the time.

I didn't know that... if true, that is a bit dissapointing because I like the idea of a different era every game.
Oh well, I am sure it will be good.

OK, so let me see: first they make it impossible for lots of people to buy their game, and then they state that sales must be high enough for them to consider releasing the next in line.
You're right, that makes absolute sense.
And by the way, if it's all about PC sales; how about releasing the PC version FIRST and then see how high the sales are...

Most ubisoft games are on pc too the only ubisoft games that are not on pc are some wii exculsives. So yes AC3 will come to pc for sure. I think AC1 sold well on pc so they decided to release AC2 on pc right?

If you look at Amazon, the PC sales are being harmed by DRM. Even on steam it's being beat by an RTS. No way that would happen if they didn't have this DRM.

The first thing that came to mind when I saw that list, was that there's way too many sequels coming out.
Come on devs, start making unique games again.

If I thought it would make a damn bit of difference to you I would list all the game NOT coming to PC... it would be more relevant than listing ones that are, which proves nothing.
3rd party games skip the PC quite often... low sales of the previous entry tends to solidify it.

Not while the economy is in the shape it is. Credit crunch means much less risk taken all around, except on key titles by powerhouses that still have the cash. And even they will fund them with other sequels.
It's the way of the industry. People want more of the same, they get more of the same :)

The gaming scene has been flooded with sequels for over 5 years now, while the crisis only kicked in 2 years ago.
I can see how making games people recognise guarantees a solid profit, but it does make the grander scope of things kind of bland compared to say the 90s.

There have always been sequels all over the place in this industry. Why? Because people want them.
And Furyo should be more proud of his company, they release a lot of new and original titles, and their sequels tend to be radically different from one to another a lot of the time... they take risks, for good or bad. See: Double Agent, Prince of Persia '08, Conviction, etc..

That post wasn't directed at Ubi specifically. It was a comment about the gaming scene in general. It just frustrates me how indifferent people are to advancement nowadays.

I get that.
The thing is in my experience if I love a game I want more of it. If Assassin's Creed never had a sequel, that would be a massive waste for me.
