Survival Difficulty level.
Infinite number of waves.
Patriarch can come on any wave past 10.
5 wave delay before Pat can come again.
Limited pick-ups after wave 5, decreasing and eventually stopping on wave 20.
Just something that could be fun :)

It's more like a new "length" to the game, than a new difficulty. You can do Easy Survival, Normal Survival, etc ...

How about Hard health levels for zeds with Suicidal spawn rates and respawn speed or faster, call it Hardcore.
Something to bridge the gap between hard and Suicidal.

personally i think it would make more sense to bridge the gap between beginner and normal... since its a large gap and imo hard - suicidal isnt much (other than starting cash)

tbh, ive wondered this for a while, i.e. what would it be like if you had an "extra long" map length.. say 20 waves !?
i also like the idea that the Patriarch still shows up on wave 11.

You'd have to test it, but I'd wager people would get pretty tired after wave 10/11/12/13 if they had been there since the beginning.
I mean, maybe if you have a few minutes of "intermission" after the boss fight. But, I know that for myself, I usually get up between matches, stretch, get a beverage, use the necessities, etc...
So, yeah, playing 20 straight waves with no break other than the trader-time would certainly be "Hardcore." Since I enjoy this game because it is casual, and I can join and quit at will, I probably wouldn't play this mode unless it was balanced out.
But, that's just me.
On a side note, I wouldn't mind some kind of well-made "scavenger mode" where you have to find the weapons at random around the map. No trader to speak of...kind of like KF-Candlesmoke, but without the A-to-B game play.

Yeah, there really needs to be a half-time intermission in long matches as it is now, if this mode was added, there'd have to be a couple breaks.
Every time i think about playing KF i try to make sure i'm stoned, have a drink, and that i've taken care of anything that i could possibly forsee interrupting me during the match. But, it seems like no matter how hard i try, something happens or someone needs help with something. I could go all day long w/o playing KF, staring at the wall, and not get interrupted once. But oh boy, once i get into a decent match, that's when everyone needs something

Wouldn't 20 wave matches last for around 2 hours? Seems like a bit much.

Im sorry if you think that, i personally like to play a few maps/games if the people in it are nice. You sound like you could be one of the people in a really nice team (friendly and decent skill) that will just leave after a pat/death D:
Also if anyone here rejects this idea for a reason like "I find more that X amount of waves to be boring" then you can just change the search options if it is put in... like you do for beginner and normal difficulties....

whoever wonders what survival is like, try kf_survival.
It's a shame that it's such a claustrophobic miniature map tho, it would be awesome to have whatever mutator it uses for a normal map.
