KEEPS CRASHING!!!!

This is the third game I have purchased on steam in just over a month that just does not work properly!!!
I am on the second mission as the UEF and it keeps crashing preventing me from getting any further in the game. If I complete the mission or research air training SC2 drops out to windows!
I played SC2 for an hour after it was unlocked last Friday morning (12 till 1 ish) without any problems, next got to play Monday evening and all my problems started!
Has anyone else had this problem?
I have unplugged my second monitor completely so that not the problem. My pc spec is an AMD Phenom II X4 965, ATI Radeon HD5850 running the 10.2 drivers, 4GB of RAM, with Windows 7 64bit O/S

One troubleshooting step in every Steam user's arsenal should be to verify the GCF (see below). It's an early step to take in general when troubleshooting a game you run on Steam.

Right click a troublesome game and select:
Properties | Local Files | Verify integrity of game cache

Those steps are from the Steam UI beta client. The current release client will have very similar wording.

It takes a few minutes. If Steam finds a problem with a file(s) it will download the master version from the server. Whether it finds a problem or not, running this will verify that you have installed what Steam thinks you should have installed. If it doesn't actually fix the problem, you can at least confirm you have a valid installation, and continue from there.

If the game is really crashing you should have something showing up in event viewer. Check your event viewer application logs to see the specific error.

On a side note, after the patch / update, old save games crashed after a few minutes. I had to restart the mission I was at for it to work.

if this is the third game that has a simmilar problem the problem is probly not with the game.

i just recently had a problem whith DirectX, and had to reinstall my whole OS to fix it.

my advice would be to go Start Menue>run>Dxdiag and check for errors there.

i would tell you to post them here, but wouldnt know what was wrong with them!

It was the save game dam it. started the mission again and it was all sorted :)

go to steam Home page to see what programs can have a bad effect on your games (for me it was havast), then if there are no response there, just try to buy another Computer or insult it or I dont know...
Some of Computer has their own mood (mine is always in a good mood, I'm lucky)
