Hey guys,
I have been wondering. I just reinstalled Steam and I am going to reinstall MW2. But i'm just wondering, there are 2 files to download: COD: MW2 Multiplayer and just COD: MW2, so I was just thinking that I would only be doing multiplayer, if I can just download the Multiplayer one seperately. Do I still have to download the COD: MW2 or can I just download that one part to play multiplayer normally???
Thanks for the help!!!

i think you have to download both, i think that mp is based on the main stuff from singleplayer, so you might need both to make the game actually work.

It's one file. Downloading either Single Player or Multiplayer won't matter, because they both use the same folder. If you install Multiplayer only, you can play Single-Player or Multiplayer, but Single Player will show up as uninstalled. The reason for this is the way Steam works when integrated with MW2's menu system (Campaign, Spec Ops, and Multiplayer all have seperate exe's) If you double-click Single Player after, it will download a 2 MB file and then show up as ready to play.

This also applies to transitions. If you wish to play Multiplayer from SinglePlayer, you either have to quit and relaunch MW2:MP, or click Main Menu in-game and choose Multiplayer, which will relaunch it for you anyways.

Hope that helps.

Thanks! So basically the 2 downloads are the same thing? So it doesn't really matter?
