View Full Version : Question- DVD still needed once registered on steam?

As per thread title- if i buy the game from amazon and register on steam, will i still need the dvd to play or can i just load up without the dvd?

solved- you dont need the disc anymore once its registered on steam

You don't need the DVD to play the game.

You don't need the DVD at all, for anything, as long as you dont mind downloading the game from Steam. Once you activate the game product code with Steam you can throw the DVD away - its only use will be to reinstall the game faster if you need to one day.

This isn't possible for most games sold through Steam. Here's a list, but as a rule-of-thumb it needs to be a Steamworks title:

Thank you for answering my question! Just waiting to see if square enix/ eidos put SupCom2 in their steam deals this weekend otherwise will buy dvd version as cheaper!
