The hex converted to decimal: 226 228 226 : 215 197 213 196 228 213 227 ( 201 ) + 211 197 197 197
If it's ASCII it's extended ASCII. Could it be EBCDIC (common mainframe encoding)?
Edit: It IS EBCDIC. It spells: S U S : P E N D ... U N T ( I ) L ... E E E (colon, dots for spacing, and parens added to roughly locate them in the source image.)
Hey, being QSECOFR on an AS/400 many years ago finally pays off!

Most likely Portal 2 trailers at this E3.

Don't expect Episode 3 until next E3 in 2011.

A company wouldn't release two fully priced products that close together, that would be a horrible marketing move.

Stop thinking of Episode 3.

Half the stuff VALVe did in the early days was considered a "horrible" move. But it worked. sm

You know it's not going to happen, stop convincing yourself.

Unless they go all Orange Box on them.

L4D/L4D2 but they were a year apart, still to close together.

That depends on Ep3 being a "fully priced product"... They *could* announce a summer release for it, too.

But, since the message was from GLaDOS, it's probably Portal-related.

Episode 1 was not a full priced game, nor was Episode 2. What makes you think that Episode 3 will be a full priced game?

Episodes are shorter "expansions", expansions to games are usually not full priced.

It seems to be that Portal 2 is very much becoming the "Game in Town" for Valve at the moment . . .

Yeah. Also since Episode 3 will most likely not be a full priced game, I hope that Valve will include Episode 3 with the full priced Portal 2.

(Like the orange box, but vise versa, Portal 2 is the main game, and Episode 3 the addition.)

Im hoping for an Orange box 2 aswell.
I mean, thats how portal 1 came out...Throw Counter-Strike 2 or Team-Fortress 3 in and you got a new box.

I would be highly be disappointed if they did not manage to produce proper sequel in 4 years of development, assuming that they are actually developing the game. The "episode" part does not necessarily limit us to few hours of gameplay. However, mentality of the people seems to indicate that miserable few hours are the way to go... Therefore, I wouldn't be surprised if they decided to rename it to emphasize the fact that it's a full game. Par example "Half-Life 2: Conclusion", but instead of conclusion they'd think of something cool.

To sum my incoherent ramblings, I can't possibly see how they would do justice to the franchise with expansionesque game.

Probably because it won't exactly be 'episodic', I think.

I would give anything for Valve to have chosen different titles beyond the generic 'Episode' followed by a number. Ep1 was originally Aftermath. Ep2 was originally Outland. It works so much better. There are no potential misconceptions, and the nature of the project isn't limited to certain constructs.
