Hi. The origin of my question is another game, Zuma's Revenge, and a problem I'm having with my father, but for all intents and purposes I think the answer applies to all Popcap games with achievements, so I decided to post here.

He loves that game, and he's worked very hard on those timed levels. But he bought the non-Steam version, and now I want to get Zuma (and PvZ) for my account, to get the achievements and also to have something to play when I'm using computers that cannot run 3D games.
My question is: if I get Steam versions of PvZ / Zuma, will he lose his progress in those games? Will I lose mine if he plays his version?

I don't think they will interfere or even see each other. Steam games are saved in the Steam folder under Program Files and the saved games are saved under Steam in ProgramData (at least for Vista and Win7) for Popcap games.

If your really worried find his saved games and back them up before installing the Steam versions.

I bought PvZ and had no problems with my dad's non-Steam copy.
