BioShock 1 has stopped working...

First of all, yes I did look at the thread about bioshock crashes, but either the information does not pertain to me, is entirely too vague, or the threads linking to more direct issues no longer exist.

So I'm hoping someone from the community can help me.

I'm running Vista 64 bit and Bioshock crashes as soon as I attempt to launch. I have no idea what to do, any suggestions?

***I did defrag the game files but that didn't help.

I'm currently re-installing but not holding my breath.

Also, the official crash thread mentions deleting the C++ executable, but there's about 5-7 of them, what's the specific file that needs to go?

One thing that helped me are removing codeks. After this, I didn't need to tweak Default.ini or whatever it was called to make the game run as it is supposed to do. I didn't need to run the game in compatibility mode or to run it under admin. Now I can play is as it supposed to. However I do experience a crash sometimes.

My OS is Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit, and I hope this will get your game up and running.
