I've played a lot of RUSE. At first I had no trouble getting a lobby going, now I'm level 27 and people leave my lobbies within seconds after joining almost every time. I would reset my level but I can't, and now I'm having a hard time playing this game. This is bloody stupid

Start playing ranked matches then.

It's not stupid. Nobody likes games between players of vastly different skill levels. The superior player finds it boring, and the inferior player finds it frustrating. Games are best between players of similar skill.

Enter the XP system, designed to try to quantify that skill. Playing ranked matches helps fix this number better, as it puts you against other competitive minded players. In addition, the ranked matches won't let people shy away from you just because you are high level.

XP measures how much you've played, not how good you are. The two are only loosely related. A simple level up is absolutely meaningless when it comes to skill. And no I am not going to be kicked out of an entire aspect of the game because "well you can play that other thing anyway"

Im lvl25 and I get the same problem.

I change my steam name to "RUSE lvl12+ players only, and then host. You also get less disconnects, as the people with crappy connections have given up playing already :)

That "level doesn't mean skill" argument is flawed, since the point being made still stands: people don't want to play with you because the amount of xp you've earned signifies your ability at this game, whether that ability is being good at the game or being able to play several matches each day.

Level signifies both skill experience (and I mean personal experience, not xp), and I don't want to play a game against somebody who's either 10 times experienced or 10 times as skilled (or 5 times both as skilled and experienced) as I am.

Simple solution... all you high level players should add each other as friend on Steam so you can always find someone to play with.

Copy of another post so short version.
Friend has played twice and is level 26, ive played 5 times im level 35, so all your arguments are flawed. Remove the level from people

Well the strange thing is that when I play on my laptop (lvl 4) I have a different lvl than on my pc (lvl 17)! So I guess reinstall will do it!

And it's not always about the lvl, I get kicked by players with higher lvl all the time!

Playing against people who are more experienced than you, more skilled than you, or both makes you better at the game. Yes, even when you lose. Especially in a strategy game like this one.

It is very irritating. I'm currently level 21 (or something), and yes, people just leave. I've tried playing Ranked matches, but it seems to have great trouble finding 2v2 matchups. The only time it actually found one, the game went back to the menu with no explaination about halfway through the match. So from my experience, it just doesn't work.

So me and my friends don't bother with the ranked system and just play normal games, but people just leave constantly.
