Are the brits only good as a rusher?

I tend to be a more defensive player. France works well for me there, but I've been trying to play the UK (I like the air force) but I can't seem to make them work for a defensive gameplay.

Any tips?

Ok to clarify.. most of the games I've been playing in the early era. In that era French have bunkers against all 3 types of attacks, and the UK only has one against infantry which was hurting me.

I just played a game as the UK in a later era game and noticed they do have all the bunkers in that era.

I like to play defensive too which is called turtling :D Britain has a good airforce. If i play for britain heres my strategy... 10-20 AA near base 5 tanks 5 at 5 anti art and that ♥♥♥♥. About defense you make bombers and fighers and when he attacks i send 1 grasshoper(scout plane) see if theres any AA. If there is i send armored recon do destroy that ♥♥♥♥ and bomb with artillery and bombers.

Well I don't think the game will ever be balanced in anything but the '45 mode, but maybe they'll get lucky.

As far as that goes, Brits seem fine early or late game. Their Cromwell tanks aren't that bad.

bunkers fail (cept the french just about)
the uk ALLWAYS has the best airforce
a fiew bofors in woods arround your base and spitfires will take care of the rest
also incase you dident know spitfires work great against AA
the typhoon can get annything in the game with 2 runs so u can kill even a mouse with 2 typhoons

what you realy want is your ground units supporting your airforce because thats brittans greatest stregnth.

get 4 or 5 upgraded howitsers with about 8 bofors arround them then make firefly anti tank guns which are awsome (upgrade the armourd anti tank 2 times for it) and you can throw in a matilda or 2 and just push forward
use a reacon plane if you see anny AA use the artillery when they send air at you the bofors,spitfires,typhoons will handle them. when they send tanks, the fireflys and typhoons will kill them. when they send infantry the arty, spitfires, lancaster's will kill them

just remmeber in this game rushing with 1 type of unit like you can in a c&c game dosent work this requires more thaught. proof of this is all the whiners on this forum
