is it possible to be standing inside a portal with your feet pushing agents a cieling? that wasn't a good explanation so let me show you what i mean

Sure it's possible.

but wouldnt gravity wanna pull your feet back through the portal?

That would be extremely useful for some presidents...

The weight of your body downward into the portal would be greater than the force of gravity down on your feet. Therefore more than offsetting it and allowing you to stand on the ceiling.

based on your diagram, you'd be standing on the ceiling there. It must feel weird to have gravity pulling down and up on you simultaneously.

Seems to me like it would be pulling you both ways towards your middle... Would you be slightly thicker in the middle standing like this?

Naw, just as long as your feet are not too high above the Portal.

There would be no gravity pulling you down because the portal took the place of the matter that was there previously. If anything, the ceiling would pull your feet up towards it.

Well, here's another question. In Test Chamber 18 of the original Portal, when you do the pillar thing. You are always upright when going in and out of the portal. This counteracts the given picture.

what "pillar thing"? the "climbing upwards using momentum" thing right before the elevator? no you arent upright all the time, you can actually see the view rotating around to adjust itself after you exited a portal. we just assume chell somehow manages to always get herself upright again.

I think it would depend how far your body went into the portal. If more of your body was on the "ceiling" side I think you would tend to be "pulled" back down towards the portal, thus slightly bobbing around like on water.

I think it would be kind of like what happens in the game, when you put 2 portals on the floor and drop an object into one. The object falls through the first, comes out the second, then gravity pulls it back and it repeats ad infinitum.

When the president learns to keep upright :)

If you place two portals about 1 foot across from each-other and use them to have bumsecks with yourself, is that considered raep?

not really if you are doing it to yourself willingly

It also wouldn't work for sex because as you thrust towards one portal, you would move away from the other, keeping all parts equidistant from each other at all times. No buttsex shall occur.

Not the best rig...

...But does this help? I think it depends on where most of the body is exposed to that gets the gravitational pull. Maybe. Could be wrong.

But who would want to do that?
