Hi All.
Noticed on Avsim tonight (flight sim forum) a new download for Railsim/Railworks: A4 Pacific Class released today.
The good old Mallard (which I remember from my youth long ago )!!!
Several liveries and scenerios.
Who's going to be first to try it?:D

Is it a freeware addon? Have a link to where we can see more info about it or to get it?
I'll probably soon check it out.
Thanks.

Hi lonewolfdon.
Just caught me before going to bed !!!!:D
Download is from Just Trains. (I guess Steam is out of steam at the moment) !!:)
Cost (unfortunately) is $21.99. --------- Pounds (don't have this symbol on my keyboard) 14.99 and Euros (don't have this on my keyboard either) is 18.95.
But I sure like the look of the Mallard. !!!!!:D
Browse on Avsim on the Web and take a peek at the thumbnails.

Oh, crap, a Mallard????????? Where, where, where??????? This is the Big Boy I have been so craving. I love steam trains (can you tell? ) and the Mallard is the pinnacle.
Oops, it's not the Big Boy, but still a really nice addition! ;)

Should do you fine Chris, it holds the record for steam locomotives for speed and the Newcastle to York is just the route to use it on.

You can get the A4 Pacific here:
http://www.justtrains.net/
If you have purchased anything from Just Trains you accrue points which can be used to get discounts when purchasing other items, so in my case I had 200 points and this gave me $2 off the A4.
Certainly a very nice model, but need more time in it, also I think the manual is very good, full of good information and tips.
Oh and Mallard is leaving York, to be pulled to Shildon by Tornado:

JustTrains is a top notch 3rd party developer. Excellent products and excellent support. Can't wait for the Voyager upgrade! Will buy the Mallard later after work.

What I really want is a 4-6-4 or similar or my dream engine for this sim would be a cab forward. If you had not guessed I am into big steam, the bigger the better.

Whew, this thing is laggy as all get out. I get frame rates below 20FPS with this thing. Granted it is beautiful, but, wow, the stuttering is really bad.

Chris I get the worse stuttering around Paddington, probably due to the 'bear', anyhow how is it elsewhere for you?
There is a 9F in the works for those who like the larger engines:

Both nice videos, Star Tux! You could hear the wheels slip in that first video, happened twice. Damn novice engineers, LOL. ;)

Yeah those 2 vids rocked.. if you go to "STEAM" in Swindon (where the 9F was built, you can have a walk on the footplate of the last one, the Evening Star.
An awsome machine, even in it's static display format, and one of my all time favorites. :)
