Just a few changes I would personally like to see:

Change the title screen "Press ENTER Key" to "Press Any Key"

Give us an option to remove the blur/fog effect in the distance. (Honestly, it gives me a headache)

When SSAO is enabled, remove the default shading blobs under peoples feet. It just makes for an even bigger, ugly blob.

Add key icons for each key that needs to be pressed for a specific action.
For example, the key icons in OPFDR:

http://www.testedcheats.com/images/stories/pc/Operation_Flashpoint2_PC/Operation_Flashpoint2_PC_Cheats_Bonus_Codes_IMAGE2 .jpg (ESC on the bottom left)

Imagine if you were playing with the 360 controller and it was just "Press RS to aim" or "Press X to reload" with NO BUTTON ICONS surrouding them, exactly like what I just typed. Just plain text. That's what the PC version is like, and it's confusing as HELL trying to spot which letter is actually the key to press, since it's surrouned by so much other text.

Question: do you have Bokeh Filter enabled in graphics options? I had it enabled and all it did was make the game look unnecessarily foggy (I can post side-by-side comparisons if you want), turned it off and everything was much much better.

Do me a favor, try turning it off (or if it's already off, turning it on) and tell me what happens.

1- Is it so hard to press Enter on Menu instead of "any" key?

2-You wouldnt like to play it without the blur/fog effect in distance because it would looks really awful, thats why you cant turn off the Anisotropic either (minimum 2x)

Personally I'd rather it just didn't tell me any buttons at all, the controls in this game are quite simple compared to a lot of others, and it's dead easy to memorize them.

Whatever you do, DO NOT buy X3:Reunion.. if you think the control mapping needs work.. Heck, X-Wing had more buttons to press too, come to think of it. You want to have REAL fun? Try a Submarine Sim... something along the lines of Silent Hunter or 688(I) Hunter Killer.

complaining about buttons.. yeesh, what's next? Complaining they have to "play" the game?

You misread, he wasn't complaining there were too many buttons, he was suggesting a minor fix of the graphical image that tells you what button to push

lol psychocamel, its pretty much the same deal. I mean in the past we didn't have that much info on buttons like we do now. Flight Sims required READING the manual. And in the early days that was almost a MUST, until things started getting "standardized". Heck we even have "labels" on motherboards now. Just seems like we are getting a bit too "lazy" as time goes on.

The only bad thing for me in JC2 demo is helicopter control. Developers, please make it the way it was in JC1! Every other vehicle allows you to look around with mouse at least. And turning around with mouse is pain.

I know all this, (except the part about it being the same deal, that's not true) I was the one saying I'd prefer it if there wasn't any buttons shown, I find them distracting and un-necessary.
But that said I agree that if they DO show buttons, it would be better if they were simple and easy to read.

At least it doesn't say "Press (X) Button" and show everything with XB360 controller mappings... It could be (and usually is) worse.

need to be able to bind keys like Delete

add many more civilians and vehicles, i have a high end box, i should be able to see the place populated and busy, based on time of day.

dead civilians should not disappear in a second

civilians should react to things like helicopter crashes, i mean i can crash a helicopter next to a civilian and they don't react at all

automobiles and boats should have a horn

player should be able to shoot out of vehicles

sometimes when you jump you dive and the parachute does not open so you splatter on the ground

unable to complete some cities, decrease the spawn delay for gas stations, water towers, ect so that we can finish cities faster...

add rudder to airplanes

allow camera to be free moving, and not centered, on vehicles, giving me big headache...

more weapons.

look at gta series and saintes row series for inspiration.

add multiuser game play...

Is it really that hard to press Enter to continue? and im all for using a PS3 controller with PC's JC2 .. ever since I tried it I ditched the keyboard/mouse config immediately.

I agree with not having to press enter to do stuff, its unergonomic. Left hand on keyboard, right hand on mouse. You shouldnt have to keep moving the right hand from mouse to keyboard to mouse again - there's enough keys to use on the left hand side, just use space or something.

Anyway, if thats the worst thing about the game, thats a compliment.

Showing graphical buttons on-screen always seemed like a console thing to me. Why bother?

Requiring the Enter key is the only thing I wouldn't mind changing. It's the only time you use it.

You can press mouse on "Press Enter" text, no need to remove hands from standard position at all. Though it'd better be "Any key" anyway.

BTW I can scroll map in Extraction mode with cursor keys only, usual map panning does not work. That's really inconvenient, why not WASD(or whatever your movement keys are)?

@OP:
You can force the game to use a more subtle version of SSAO which you might find more to your liking by adding:

/hbao=0

as a command line option. This version doesn't have any levels, just keep SSAO on (low, mid, high doesn't matter).

QFT. I got a saitek 360 controller and the game just feels so much better with no input lag on the analog sticks unlike the mouse.
