View Full Version : Some Tower questions

Hello. While I really enjoy and like Sol Survivor I feel a bit confused about some of the turrets, and the Encyclopedia does not provide enough info in some cases.

So here are some questions:

-Are the damage values on towers damage per shot or second? It would be highly informative to know the firing speed of a turret.

-How effective are speed/crit/range boost turrets? Do their effects stack? Do they become more powerful with power upgrades?

-What exactly is the use of the Missile Silos? They are extremely expensive, fire very very slowly and the damage does not seem to be that great.

-Do EMP turrets damage to health or just the shields?

If I may also add some queries of my own:

- When upgrading a drone turret, does each drone do more damage, or does it simply give more drones that do the same damage? (Effectively: what does the dmg# on the drone turret mean).

- When focus fire ranks up does it add more damage to the focused target? Is this a % of damage, or simply a fixed increase?

- By what percentage do Inhibitors slow down regeneration?

- And what exactly is a Forklift seal? :P

Oh, and EMPs only do damage to shields. (As well as cause slowing effects).

I know what a Forklift Seal is :P.

Yes the above information in the Encyclopedia would be amazing. The details of the % the modifiers add and speed would be nice for a future update/patch.

Also would be cool to have the "stats" for your steam profile show the number of creeps killed, number and types of turrets built etc. Similar to how Day of Defeat source shows details like shots fired with each gun, number of hits, kills etc. The numbers are already in the game in the form of the encyclopedia, I would imagine it wouldn't be that difficult to get something like that to transfer and show up with the achievements in the profile.

are the lvl 1 laser towers overpowered?
i just played a versus game where someone spammed lvl 1 laser towers, he told me, he calculated it, they are the best choice.
Our team lost with speed/range/crit boosted lvl 3 guns.

What are the napalm rockets good for?

Laser lv 1 is very good, but not OP. You just need to know what counter heat from laser.

Napalm is for a big range aoe heat damage, but it's very slow, so it needs speed boost and a good player to "focus" creep in the middle of a crowd. Otherwise, it'll just fire randomly (and it worth notices twice, SLOWLY).

Lasers aren't that good at all in my opinion. They are heat based, which means they work best against organic enemies. Most of the enemies are mechanic or cybernetic. I prefer Piercing or Concussive damage.

Lasers are rather effective for cleaning any creeps that get past the main gauntlet and can take on some of the more annoying creeps, particularly roaches and raptors. Their weakness lies is that they can easily get overwhelmed by a mob and do little damage against armored tank creeps. They're a very reliable source of damage, so I like building a couple L3 lasers close to the colony.

Some of these ideas have been added to the Collaboration of Sol Survivor Suggestions (http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?p=14089820#post14089820) (#11, 23).

Thanks ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥s, looking for that stupid seal broke my game.

Zooming inside the train made my view fall off the map somehow and now when I load a map, any map, all I get is a black screen. Worst. Achievement. Ever.
